Exactly 17 months before our wedding date, my parents invited Carter and I to a winery on a sunny, 60 degree Saturday in the middle of winter. Carter came home from practice and we both got ready to leave for the winery. We got in the car and Carter had said that he left a bottle that he wanted for the weekend at my parents house, so we had to stop there first. Upon pulling in the driveway, Carter asked if I wanted to have a glass of wine on the porch, at which I said “No, we are supposed to meet my parents at the winery”. Carter laughed to himself, and then I realized what was going on. We went inside, poured our glass of wine, and went out to the back deck to take in the mountains and beautiful weather. Only a couple minutes passed before Carter reached for my hand and asked me to be his wife. Of course, I said yes! My parents were tracking my location just waiting for the phone call. We met friends and family at the winery to help us celebrate. Now we countdown the days until we tie the knot!
