Once I had seen her eyes, I knew what love was. We met at a bar in Gainesville called ChopBlock. I was bartending and noticed Madi hanging out and talking to people for her friend’s birthday. I remember taking quarter-filled trash bags out every twenty minutes or so, trying to build up the courage to try and talk to Madi. Luckily for me, my charm must have been on because she came up to me and grabbed my phone number.

With me having no social media, it was probably strange to go on a date with someone you know nothing about, other than the fact that they were a bartender at some sketchy bar. When I finally got her to go on a date with me, one of the first things she told me was that three people knew where she was, and I said “Don’t mind the rope back there then!”

Every day that we’ve been together has been a blessing. As cliche as it sounds, it really is as close to a fairytale as I could ever imagine in this world. The connection that we share is so genuine and despite me looking for my seventeenth job in three years, she still loves me! We got engaged in the beautiful Canadian landscape in Banff, Alberta, on her mom’s birthday of all days. The look of sheer happiness in her eyes will always stick with me, as I felt like I was about to explode with the best emotions.

If you know us, then you definitely know about our beloved dogs and cat. Our story isn’t complete without them. Despite them only being pets, they have taught us patience and the true unconditional love they provide us gives us just that much more of a boost in our own relationship. We make eachother feel complete, and it’s just beautiful.

This wedding is not only about us and our story, but also about the unpredictable and beautiful families that will be joining together. So many sacrifices have been made to even put us in the position to be functioning adults in society, and we have our amazing families to thank for that. We look forward to continuing to paint this incredible story and to add numerous chapters into our lives.
