Our Story

Picture of Our Story

The first time Madison and I met was at our church library and we introduced ourselves and talked for bit. It was a small beginning to a big change.

It all started at a graduation party at a friend’s house. We both were hanging with some friends. While playing in the pool, Madison jumped in so she wouldn’t get thrown into the pool, like some other friends were. I decided to jump into the pool as well; even in my church clothes. After some games we gradually gravitated towards each other and started chatting with one another about many different topics. I found Madison to be very interesting and I started to like her more as the evening progressed. And I believe that she’s did as well.

After that day Ricky made a point to speak with me every Sunday. And FINALLY after 4 months, one Sunday afternoon he asked me out on our first date. We went to Dave and Busters first. We played many games and I loved getting to spend time with Ricky. Afterwards, Ricky took me to dinner to an Italian restaurant. There we got to have more serious conversations about what we desired from a relationship. We both wanted to one day get married and start a family, but most of all honor God. We concluded the night with the intention to go on another date.

I was nervous to commit to a relationship with Ricky and had some doubts about how to proceed wisely. After some prayer and wisdom from some friends and family, I was able to after a couple weeks to go on another date with Ricky. And I am so glad I did. God has given so many blessings. Ricky was steadfast through it all.

We had many walks by The Woodlands Waterway and now we have many precious memories there. During one of those walks we made our relationship official after one month of dating. Eleven months passed, full of growing pains and blessings. Then one hot August day we reminisced. We had dinner at the same Italian restaurant and walked around our favorite places by the Waterway. We strolled along and came upon a bridge. Ricky took me over the water and stopped at the top. He told me how much he loved me and asked me to marry him. I told him “yes, yes, yes!”
