Marley and the bride met during high school. The two played golf for River Bluff High School in South Carolina before moving on to play golf at a collegiate level. Marley is currently attending Lander University and majoring in Nursing. She plans on working as a critical care nurse after graduation, and eventually going back to school to become a nurse anesthetist.

Sam and the groom met during college and lived together for two years during their time at Indiana State University. Sam currently lives in Temple, Georgia and is working for the company GameTime. He is a shade engineer and designs metal structures that utilize tensioned fabrics to provide shade for parks and playgrounds.
