Their story began almost 9 years ago while Madi and Connor were attending Morningside College. They knew of each other freshman year with them both playing sports, however, did not get into contact until sophomore year during Microbiology class. Who would have thought thats where their love story would begin? Madi did not excel in Micro, no matter how hard she tried to understand, nothing would click. However, Connor on the other hand would not listen to a single lecture and somehow, he always knew the answers to everything. Soon thereafter, Madi kept receiving the daily text of, "hey did you get the homework done?" and she would always send it to him. Until one day, she got smart and responded with, "why don't you come over and we can do it together." A couple weeks later they came to a compromise that Madi would do majority of the homework and Connor would (hopefully no previous professors are reading this) always sit in the row in front of her in the auditorium on test day and place his test just in the right position to where Madi could do a quick peek on the questions she did not know (which were a lot). They continued to get to know each other throughout the remainder of first semester of sophomore year until he made their relationship official on December 23, 2015, when he asked Madi to be his girlfriend on the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge while Connor was visiting Omaha for Madi's family Christmas. They still to this day find Madi's response of "ARE YOU SERIOUS" hilarious and talk about it often.

As college continued, their relationship only grew. They supported each other academically and athletically. There were many highs and lows of both. They attended every game of each others they could, and if they couldn't be there in person, they would always have it streamed so they could cheer the other on. They were truly each others biggest fans.

Madi graduated in May of 2018 and accepted her first nursing position back in Omaha, while Connor used his last year of eligibility at Morningside. This began their long-distance relationship. Connor then graduated in December of 2018, and accepted a football coaching position in Sioux City. Lots of trips were made by each other from Sioux City to Omaha and vice versa. It was a difficult adjustment, but ultimately made their relationship stronger. During the time they were together they enjoyed attending concerts, supporting friends getting married and binge-watching shows together while doing one of their favorite hobbies- puzzles.

Finally, in January 2021, Connor made the move to Omaha, where he moved in with Madi. She enjoyed showing Connor around Omaha and the area she grew up. After about 6 months, Madi came home one day with the impulsive thought that they needed a dog. About a week later they became puppy parents to Zona. Madi and Connor absolutely adore Zona and could not imagine their life without her. While living in Omaha they have found enjoyment cheering on Creighton, playing darts and exploring different restaurants, but the thing they love to do the most is searching for their favorite sour beer.

8 years later, Connor FINALLY asked Madi if she would marry him. He popped the big question at the start of Madi's family cruise where she obviously said yes. They celebrated while crusing to Honduras, Belize and Cozumel. It is obviously their favorite vacation yet. They are excited for their big day on May 4th and cannot wait for what is to come next!
