Luke and Maddey’s story began in high school. On March 20, 2021, Luke reached out to Maddey on Instagram, and their connection was instant. Just 2 weeks later, they met in person at North Field Park, with Luke bringing his best friend and future best man, Gage, while Maddey was joined by her sister, Maylea, who would one day be her maid of honor. Together, they played sand volleyball, shared laughter, and found that something special was blossoming. Afterward, they went to Chili’s, where conversation flowed, and they began to see the spark of something much deeper. Just a month after their first meeting, on April 21, 2021, Luke asked Maddey to be his girlfriend. They shared joyful memories over the next year, but life took an unexpected turn. In August 2022, they broke up, a chapter marked by heartache and lessons learned. Maddey went off to college just a few weeks later, but this new season led her to meet someone who would change her life forever: Jesus. She began to walk a new path, learning what it meant to follow Him and finding her identity in His love. Meanwhile, Luke stayed home, but the bond they had shared kept them connected. Maddey shared her newfound faith, and in time, Luke found himself on a similar journey. He began attending church, ultimately surrendering his heart to Jesus as well. Through faith, both Luke and Maddey found healing and redemption, discovering the beauty of second chances. They became renewed people, their hearts transformed by grace. On January 15, 2023, they came back together, now grounded in a love built on trust and faith. They’ve walked through ups and downs since then, each moment strengthening their bond. Today, we gather to witness the union of Luke and Maddey, a testament to God’s abundant grace. Without Him, their paths might have remained broken, but through Him, they are made whole.
