Grant and Madison have a fun story about how they met.

In the fall of 2020, Madison met a girl named Clara while attending the same Life Group at church. Later, Clara started dating a guy named Brett. He joined our Life Group in early 2021. In the summer of 2021, Clara, Madison, and some other girls were having a girl's night. When Clara started talking about Brett, Madison jokingly asked, "Does he have an older brother?" It turns out he did, and that happened to be Grant. Clara mentioned that Madison might get along with Grant, adding that they would be cute together. Clara showed Madison a picture, and Madison thought he was cute. Clara asked if Madison wanted her to say something to Grant to get the ball rolling, and Madison said, "Sure, I'm not sure what you'd say, but okay."

Just for fun, Madison followed Grant on Instagram, just as a little nudge. Grant later followed her back. Madison had her heart flutter a little when she saw the notification.

Having begun the setup with Madison, Clara went to Grant and started talking about Madison. Although Grant was intrigued as to why this random friend of Brett and Clara's had suddenly taken an interest in him, he was set against the idea of dating anyone, regardless of how cute he thought Madison was. After telling Grant more about Madison, Clara told him to keep an open mind, leaving Grant to mull over whether he wanted to make any moves.

After Clara talked to Madison and Grant, she got Madison an interview for a hostess position at a winery, as she was leaving the position to go somewhere else. Madison interviewed and got the job almost immediately. At the winery, Madison later met the CFO, Mike, and his wife, Julie. Mike and Julie just happened to be Grant and Brett's parents. Madison became friends with both of them. When Madison would clock in for her shift, she would stop by the office to say "hello" to whoever was there. When Mike was at his desk, Madison would stop and chat for a bit, every once in a while glancing at a picture of Grant that was on his desk. A short time later, Mike asked, "So I know you know Brett, but have you met my other son Grant?" At that point, I hadn't. I had only seen pictures of him. "Well, you should," he responded.

In the meantime, Julie had come into the winery to visit Mike, meeting Madison in the process. Julie left thinking very highly of Madison. Grant, still reluctant to date again, asked Julie for advice shortly after that. Julie responded that Madison was excellent and a good match for him and encouraged Grant to give her a chance and to stop being stubborn. After hearing this, Grant reasoned that if Clara and Julie agreed, Madison must be the real deal. He decided to give Madison a shot and waited for an opening to DM her on Instagram.

In October 2021, Madison, on her work break, went to the patio for lunch to listen to live entertainment. She posted a video of the food and the entertainment on her Instagram. Later that day, Grant messaged her, commenting on what she posted, and a conversation started. They talked online the entire next day, and something clicked for the both of them. They agreed to go on a date the upcoming Friday; it was Monday at the time.

On their first date, they went to Trupiano's, a delicious Italian restaurant in Fallbrook, and now, over two years later, they are getting married!
