After spending the entirety of sophomore year of high school in the same homeroom and never speaking, we were introduced by a mutual friend junior year. We communicated over social media until our first date on September 30, 2018. We met to see "Night School." As it was a Sunday night, his parents were texting him to come home during the movie and my parents were mad that I was not home before 9pm, since I did not have my after nines license. Three weeks later, on October 22, 2018, he surprised me after tennis practice in the Wimbledon Tennis Center parking lot. He asked me to be his girlfriend by bringing me dinner from Chick-Fil-A with the message "Girlfriend?" written on the bag. We began dating, went to prom together, and I attended many sporting events watching him since he played high school football and baseball, and even church league basketball. He did attend a few of my tennis matches when he was able due to his football schedule, but absolutely had no clue what was going on. We graduated high school together, began college together, and graduated college together. He proposed on December 16, 2023 after a little over five years of dating, in Charleston, SC. We left for a cruise with my family a few days later and it was the best way to spend the first few days engaged.
