Maddy's Point of View:

Alex and I grew up not that far from each other. So throughout middle school & high school I knew who he was, but we never had any conversations. I talked to Alex a few times in passing, saw him a few times at our college rec center playing pickup basketball, but we still never really had a conversation that was more than "hi, how are you!".

It wasn't until 2022 when Alex made a post on Instagram that caught my attention. I decided to send him a message and tell him congratulations on accomplishing his achievement that he was posting about on social media. After that our conversations became more frequent, and he FINALLY asked me out on a proper date. He took me to a pizza place in St. Louis and right away we connected. I don't think either of us ate any of our pizza because we spent the whole time talking. He made me laugh the entire date and was so intentional in getting to know who I was. We sat and talked until the restaurant closed.

It was the best date I've ever had, and I knew right away that God had just presented me with my soulmate. 2 years later and Alex has never failed to take care of me, encourage me to explore new paths, make me laugh so hard I cry, and love me unconditionally. Alex is my gift & I can't wait to become his wife.

Alex's Point of View:

Maddy and I met each other in passing a handful of times casually before we ever really got the chance to formally know each other. I knew Maddy long before she knew me though. Maddy was a dual sport phenom and I might’ve been her biggest fan. Nah scratch that, WAS her biggest fan. I first learned about her around freshman year of high school, and once I knew who she was I had courtside tickets to every Southwestern vs. Roxana Basketball game and Volleyball match. I 100% could not miss the cute blonde girl wearing #10 come through and drop 40/5/5 on our poor Roxana girls basketball squad. They couldn’t guard her!

Once in college we both attended SIUe and I would see her in passing still but never anything concrete. The universe had to keep reminding me “Maddy Greeling is so beautiful, are you seeing this?”. Top 5 days of my life is when SHE reached out to ME on social media. I had to re-read it 4 or 5 times make sure I wasn’t being scammed. After a lil talking I asked her if she would go out with me one weekend, and we ended up going to a pizza spot in STL and an arcade afterwards. Without a doubt I fell in love with her that night and was gonna be hooked the rest of my life no matter how things ended up. Fast forward a couple years and I’m so blessed to call her my fiancé, I can’t wait to marry this girl and live our lives together.
