Madison and Christian met for coffee at the Capitol Hill Starbucks in Washington, D.C., per the suggestion of the groom's brother, Patrick. Madison and Patrick became friends while teaching public speaking together at The University of Alabama. Everyone thought this was just a networking coffee between two people working in politics, but God had other plans.
After a year of becoming close friends, Madison agreed to go on a date at a nice restaurant with Christian down by the river in Georgetown. At dessert, Christian asked Madison to be his girlfriend and she said yes! The catch? Christian had to move back to Arizona for an entire year to finish his undergraduate degree while Madison stayed behind to work at the House of Representatives.
It was a tough year of long-haul flights and three-hour Facetime calls, but before they knew it Christian was moving back to D.C. with his degree in hand. After two years together, one long distance and one in D.C., they knew they didn't ever want to spend any time apart. Christian proposed on August 2nd, 2023, and the two became husband and wife on August 21st, 2023, in a private ceremony at the Lauderdale County Courthouse in Florence, Alabama.
Although they are already married (rent in D.C. is no joke!), Madison and Christian want to celebrate their love with all their friends and family. They also want to do it in Alabama. After all, they never would have met that fateful day at Starbucks if not for Madison's friendship with Patrick at The University of Alabama. Roll Tide!
