Once Upon A Time...

There was a boy and a girl. They were soon to be married! But hold on just a second, let's rewind...

There once was a girl who dreamed of meeting her prince charming. But not like in the fairytales you see on your TV screen, no. A different sort. A prince with the kindest heart. A man who has an undying love for our gracious God and loving savior, Jesus Christ, more than anything or anyone. A protector. A mind that challenges. A soul that sings. Eyes that see all the nakedness, raw images, and deepest knowings of another. A jokester that continues to bring joy. A strength in character to one day bring new life into this world. A noble leader. A true heir made from the love and grace of God...

This. This was her dream. But over many years, this dream started to float further away and became a distant thought rather than a realistic adventure. Hope was never lost as she continued on her quest in search of her prince, but the terrain was rough at times. Disbelief, confusion, and defeat coursed through her in times of failure or false leads.

Facing many challenges, the girl found herself at her lowest point yet... Then a glimpse of hope rose again. She gave her search another shot thinking the same old pattern would continue, but maybe... maybe this time would be different. Not holding much expectation from her previous hurdles, she followed down the path and soon after met him... was he the prince she had been longing for? Or just another stepping stone?

The first step meeting the concrete as her eyes wandered in search for his across the way, she knew this one was different... Standing there leaning against the pillar was a special sight to see. Resting in his hands was none other than a single rose, delicate orange in color. Only a true prince would be so kind.

As they continued to conversate, laugh, and slowly let their guards down... the tension of newness and uncertainty faded. Hours passed by... Both the boy and girl continued to find a reason to stay. Leaving didn't seem like an appealing option. Before they knew it, 12 full hours had gone by!.. and the lights in the vast sky twinkled slightly bringing light to each's face.

This brings us back to the beginning of our fairy tale. Every moment after that first encounter was spent with one another. The two exclaimed their love only 10 days later. They browsed engagement rings just 2 months into their official relationship. Some might have said this was quick, but they knew where they stood. Their love was true.

So, the boy and girl are now to be wed. They look forward to celebrating this love soon!
