Our Wedding

It all started with the rhythm of the music. The sound of boots tapping against the floor, the shuffle of feet moving in sync, and the laughter that filled the air. We met next to the dance floor, of all places—at the dancing hall in Fulton, MO, where a couple dances and several conversations brought instant connection between the two of us. We talked about our childhood and all the things that we had in common. Little did we know that we would start a relationship 106 miles apart a few weeks later.&nbsp; Through the long distance we found ways to make the most out of our weekends. Going dancing every chance we could, we found so many friends along the way.&nbsp; After all the time traveling back and forth, we made a decision that felt both exciting and terrifying—we moved in together. Our first apartment. It wasn’t grand or fancy, but it was ours. The place where we could finally start building our life side by side. Packing boxes, choosing colors, and figuring out how to share space—both physically and emotionally—wasn’t always easy, but it was ours. There were moments of chaos—learning how to live together, finding routines, making decisions about everything from furniture to groceries—but through it all, we had a newfound appreciation for each other. We were no longer just two people with a long-distance connection; we were creating a home, and every little detail felt like part of our story. Our first apartment became a symbol of everything we’d been through: the patience, the growth, and the love that had brought us together. It wasn’t just about the physical space—it was about the life we were building, together, every day. In that tiny apartment, we learned how to truly share our lives, how to navigate the ups and downs, and how to make every moment count. And then, as if our little apartment wasn’t already full enough with memories, we made another life-changing decision: we got a dog, Benton. The moment we adopted and brought him home, our lives shifted in the best possible way. We went from two people sharing a small space to three—Benton quickly claimed his place at the center of our hearts. Our little bubbies became more than just a pet; he became part of the family, a new chapter in our story. And then, just when we thought we had everything we needed, we took another giant leap forward. We bought a house. Walking through those empty rooms, imagining how they’d soon be filled with life, laughter, and memories, was a feeling I’ll never forget. It was no longer about just creating a home for the two of us, or even the three of us with our dog. It was about building a foundation for our future, a space where we could grow and build a life that reflected all of our love, dreams, and shared adventures. Buying our first house was more than just a financial decision; it was a symbol of how far we’d come. The challenges we’d faced, the distance we’d overcome, and the life we’d built together—all of it was reflected in that home. And now, every room, every corner, every little change we make, is a reminder of how much we’ve accomplished and how much more we have ahead of us. Our story isn’t just about line dancing or surviving long-distance or finding our first apartment—it’s about building a life together. It’s about love that grows with every challenge, every step, every new chapter. And no matter where life leads us, I know we’ll keep dancing—side by side, with our little family—making our house a home, one beautiful memory at a time.
