Our story began in the most unexpected, and truly perfect way.

It all started with a dog named Truly. Jill, Jeff’s mom, was out in the yard of the Hower House Museum one afternoon, playing with her dog Truly. Truly was a gift to Jill from her son Jeff. I (Madi) happened to live in the Hower House Museum at the time and noticed them from my bedroom window. Curiosity (and a love for dogs) led me downstairs to introduce myself to Jill and Truly. Little did I know that day would change my life forever.

That year, Jill and Truly became two of my closest friends. Jill would bring Truly over every day to visit. We spent countless evenings having TV nights in her apartment, playing games, and sitting on the front steps talking about everything under the sun. There wasn’t a single day during my senior year of undergrad that I didn’t talk to Jill.

Somewhere along the way, Jill began telling me stories about Jeff. And how great he was. When I finally met him, I instantly knew I liked him. (And let’s just say… he definitely knew I was interested!) Life took us on different paths for a few years, but the stories of Jeff never stopped. Jill also would tell Jeff that he needed to find “a girl like Madi”.

Fast forward to early 2025, Jeff reached out to me one day, and this time, the timing was just right. We went on a date soon after, and from that moment on, everything fell into place.

Our love story began because of a dog named Truly, and now, we are truly in love!
