As many of you know, Jason and I met at DJais in Belmar. Jason started bouncing in the summer of 2013 and that same summer I had a shore house with a bunch of friends.
On the night of July 18th, which was also New Years theme night and the start to my birthday weekend, we first met and exchanged numbers. Some people may assume that we started dating right way but that is definitely not the case. We did keep in touch and see each other occasionally but nothing more than friends. So we will fast forward about a year and a half later. Jason and I started to talk more frequently and hang out more regularly. On a random Monday night in February, after a few rounds of Trivia at Park East, Jason asked me to be his girlfriend! You can ask him how he actually asked, its pretty funny!!
On our three year anniversary of meeting, Jason had planned a "surprise party" for my birthday. He had invited family members and some friends to Djais on a Monday night to celebrate and watch the band Holme. But only a few select people knew that Jason had a few other surprises up his sleeve. After arriving and having everyone wish me a happy birthday, the band started singing "happy birthday" and then left the spotlight on me while Jason handed me a box to open. Inside were T-shirts that he had made. I started reading what the shirt said and paused halfway through and turned to him. He then kneeled and proposed. I obviously said "of course". Everyone started screaming and then the band played "Going to the Chapel!" Definitely an eventful and exciting night that I will never forget!
