Is this wedding in Maine?
Yessssss Portland, Maine-you're going to love it!
What should I wear?
We kindly request that guests dress in formal attire. Please keep in mind that the ceremony will be in a church.
For Women:
Think elevated, elegant, and ready for a good time. Floor-length gowns, chic midi length dresses, or a dressy cocktail look are all perfect. Luxe fabrics (silk, satin, chiffon, etc.) are always a win. Heels, dressy flats, or formal sandals are great — basically, if you feel fabulous and wedding-ready, you’re doing it right.
For Men:
A dark suit with a dress shirt and tie is the move. Polished shoes, maybe a pocket square if you’re feeling fancy. Tuxedos are absolutely not required — but if you’re looking for an excuse to pop off, be our guest.
Will there be drinks?
Duh.... The reception will feature an open bar. Bring cash if you want to tip your bartenders- they may play a more important role than the bride and groom!
Can I take pictures at this wedding?
We kindly ask that guests put their phones away during the church ceremony. I promise our photographer is really good!!!!!!!
After the church, we encourage you to take lots of photos and share them with us! Use the hashtag #oneMOdacosta
Do I get a plus 1?
We’ve carefully curated our guest list, and all invited guests (including significant others and children) will be listed by name when you RSVP. You’ll be able to respond on behalf of everyone included in your party. If a name isn’t listed, we unfortunately aren’t able to accommodate additional guests.
Where should I stay?
The reception is being held in an area of Portland called Thompson's Point. A new hotel is currently being built in this area where rooms in our room block will be available to book sometime in June. Otherwise, there are tons of beautiful hotels less than 10 minutes away in downtown Portland.
What will the weather be like?
Late October in Southern Maine is crisp fall weather-right of out a magazine. Expect highs in the 50s and cooler evenings in the 40s.
