It all started during the pandemic. We both had a mutual friend that messaged us separately seeing if we would be interested in each other. Both of us said yes and we became friends on Facebook. Mike was the first one who messaged Maddie on Facebook messenger. We talked for 8 months online due to Covid.

Once the pandemic started to slow down our friends were starting to have parties. We both invited each other to the parties but a couple of them neither of us could attend. Maddie’s close friend was having a 30th birthday party. Maddie asked Mike if he would be interested in going. Mike said he could attend. On Saturday July 10, 2021 was the day of the party and we finally got to meet in person. Both of us talked the whole party and felt like we knew each other for a long time. When the party ended we both walked out together to our cars. Mike asked Maddie if she would be interested going out to dinner one night. Maddie said yes.

July 17, 2021, that same week Mike and Maddie went to Kittys in North Reading for dinner. We were hoping to hang out after but it started to rain and cut our date short. After our first date we went on a few dates later that month.

July 30, 2021, we went bowling at Town Line in Malden. We bowled a few rounds and got some food. After that Mike asked Maddie if it would be okay to drop off his leftovers at his house. Once he finished, we left so Mike could drop off Maddie at her house in North Reading. When we drove past the Wakefield lake it was then Mike had asked Maddie to be his girlfriend. Maddie said yes!

July 25, 2023, Mike and Maddie went to Maine to celebrate their 2 years being together. It was like any other day. We were walking around and exploring different spots in Maine. We ended the night eating dinner at Roberto’s pizza. We both shared a pizza and had some wine. It was a wonderful day spent. After dinner we went back to the hotel for the night. Mike said at 10:00 we are going to sit on the balcony. Maddie asked why. He said I want to finish up this beer. At 10:00 we went out on the balcony. We sat and chatted about the day and night. All of a sudden Mike was reaching in his pocket for something. Maddie had no clue what he was doing. He pulled out a small box started talking. (Maddie still had no clue what was happening) Mike opened the box and got on one knee, popped the question and asked Maddie if she would marry him. Maddie was in complete shock and Mike started crying. Of course Maddie said yes! We went to Maine as boyfriend/ girlfriend and left engaged. It was the best 2 yr celebration!

Now we are living together and ready to start our future. We moved to Peabody, Ma on June 29, 2024.
