Travis and I do not have a traditional love story as most do. We didn't meet and it was love at first sight, we've broken up over and over again, and we've had our fair share of obstacles stopping us from being together. Regardless of all of that though, here we are today as fiancees and more importantly best friends.
We met in high school in 2013, Travis as a senior and myself as a sophomore dating his friend lol. Once his friend and I broke up, we went on a date. Dinner and a movie then sitting in his car at the lake. Right before he was about to kiss me I pulled away and said, "I have really wide shoulders, I could be an NFL linebacker". Sadly after that, he quickly drove me home and there was no kiss to be had that night. A few years passed, and we ended up reconnecting at a party during Thanksgiving break. Travis is in school at ASU and I am about to graduate high school in 2016. We soon realized we had more in common than we thought and he could finally think of me as a girlfriend instead of a football teammate. Travis and I dated for this first go-around for about 6 months before realizing we couldn't do the distance between Phoenix and Boston. I left for school in the fall, but that didn't stop us from still texting haha.
In the spring of 2017, I decided to transfer from Boston and attend ASU with him. We had a rollercoaster of a relationship at that time and ultimately decided to end things again when he graduated in 2018 and moved to San Diego. Even though we were miles apart we continued our on-again and off-again relationship for far too long haha. At the beginning of 2019, we knew we needed a break from all this chaos and didn't speak again until the fall of 2020.
In October Travis reached out and confessed his love for me and how much he missed me, I felt the same way but with some hesitation lol. I told him if he wanted me back I wanted him to court me and show me the proof. Travis, being the amazing guy he is took me to Palm Springs, Mammoth, and many delicious dinners in San Diego. I moved in with him in San Diego at the end of the summer of 2021 and it has been the best decision I have ever made.
The past few years have been filled with lots of fun; weddings, babies, and spending time with our sweet puppy son (now in heaven). October 2023 comes around and Travis plans the best surprise proposal ever surrounded by our loved ones—the easiest yes of my life.
We can't wait to celebrate and party till the sunrise with all of you! See you in Mexico!!
