What started as a first date in the middle of winter, in the middle of COVID, has lead to 3 years together, 2 dogs, and lots of memorable moments along the way.

Year 1 brought a coffee date that quickly turned into Jared meeting Madi’s family by the third date. Both of them moved at least once, Jared bought his house, and Madi moved home from Rochester. They went on the first of many trips together.

Year 2 brought a chocolate chunk into their lives. Jaeger, Jaegy, Jaeg Bomb, and all his many nicknames, brought them many sleepless nights and fights about his stomach problems. He also brought them lots of joy and cute pictures. They drove 23 hours to Utah and didn't convert to Mormonism. Jared conquered his fear of heights on Angel’s Landing and then succumbed to Covid as Madi had during the aforementioned hike.

Year 3 was the most eventful yet. Madi jokingly told Jared to propose during a photoshoot in May, and much to her surprise, he actually did. Madi said yes after 5 minutes of silence. Jared was assigned to be the next K9 handler for his department which brought dog #2, Bolt, into his home. Madi and Jared survived a tandem kayak tour on Lake Superior and many other adventures on a trip to Michigan. Jared was bit by several dogs during his training, and Madi nursed him back to health while also planning most of the wedding.

2024 will be the best year yet.
