Our Story

Our story begins in March of 2022, in Denver, Colorado. Kyle and I met on Hinge, but I'll tell you if it weren't for my persistence we wouldn't be where we are today. While Kyle will tell you he NEVER would have swiped left on me, I swear I swiped right on Kyle several times before he finally decided to message me back. I had moved to Denver about a year earlier to be closer to my brother Garrett, who was living out in Denver going to school. Kyle had lived in the city for a couple of years at that point, but we both were just as excited to be in the city and experience all it had to offer. After exchanging phone numbers and talking for a few days, we decided it was time to move the conversation offline and actually meet in person. Our first date was at Postino Wine Bar in LoHi, which quickly became one of our favorites, and from the moment we sat down, the conversation flowed as easily as the wine. We shared one too many bottles and talked for hours, laughing and learning all about each other. Kyle will say that he knew I was "the one" that night—but it took me just a little longer (much to Kyle's dismay) to admit it! Not long after, we went on our second date... and then a third, and a fourth, until we ended up pretty much inseparable.

One of our most memorable dates from early on was an Avalanche game Kyle took me too. Kyle bought great seats (trying to impress me) but I was so sick I almost didn't go... but how could I say no to spending more time with Kyle. I am SO thankful I went. Little did we know, the Avalanche were going to win the Stanley Cup. Needless to say, we spent many days and nights with friends in downtown Denver rooting them on.

The date that truly made me realize Kyle was the one though was a simple evening in the park, which I really thought would be lame and the date to break us up. BUT Kyle planned the entire night, complete with SweetGreen salads, Crumbl cookies and a bottle of wine. We spent hours sitting in the park, talking about our families, our hope and dreams, and what we thought a future together might look like. After Kyle walked me home that night, I knew he was going to the be person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

We took our first trip together over Memorial Day weekend in 2022 to Vail, Colorado. It rained... no actually it poured, but we still had the best time seeing Jake Owen at amphitheater. It is one of the most special nights we will never forget. On our walk back home, we said I love you for the first time under the stars, on a little bridge in the trees and we LOVE going back to visit and reminisce on those early days of dating. On May 5, 2022, we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend over chips, guacamole, and lots of tacos and the rest of our journey together unfolded so easily.

Over the next year, we made so many memories together—traveling with friends and family, experiencing new places, and growing closer every day. We knew marriage was something we both wanted, but we were very intentional about taking the time to meet each other’s families and build a strong foundation. I got to travel to Arizona and Mexico to spend time with Kyle’s family and see where he grew up! Kyle spent time with my family in some of our favorite places and he quickly learned just what he was getting himself into.

In 2023, after we both got new jobs and decided we were ready to explore a new city, we packed up and moved across the country to Charlotte, North Carolina where we got to start creating a home together—just the two of us.&nbsp;

And on April 6, 2024, Kyle asked me to be his forever at the Biltmore Estate and it was the easiest YES of my entire life. We had the most special weekend, just the two of us, celebrating everything that the future was going to hold. Since then we have been so lucky to share this special time with our friends and family, celebrating our love and counting down the days until September 27, 2025 when we get to make it official!

On December 4th, we welcomed home our newest little family member, Bauer.

We are so thankful and excited to share this special time with you all and can wait to have you join us on the lawn at Chevy Chase in September!

Should you need additional nights at either hotel, please reach out to Madison or Kyle. Please book hotels by August 28th. Note: We will be providing transportation TO and FROM the preferred hotels and venue. Please stay wherever is best for you!

Preferred Hotel: Marriott Bethesda Downtown at Marriott HQ is located only a short drive from all three major airports. The hotel is ideally placed on the Red&nbsp;Line Metro Stop and is a short walk to Bethesda Row. The Marriott HQ hotel is a short ride from all weekend festivities!

Getting to Maryland

By Plane

RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL AIRPORT There are a few airports in the DC area. DCA is the closest and will be the easiest for travel to our wedding. Guests can use the DC Metro, rent a car, or call a rideshare (Uber or Lyft) to get to Bethesda, MD. DCA is approximately 12 miles but can take up to 50 min depending on time of day and traffic.

DULLES INTERNATIONAL IAD is located in Virginia and is slightly further from Bethesda, MD but may have more flight options depending on where you are arriving from. Guests can rent a car or call a rideshare (Uber or Lyft) to get to Bethesda. IAD is approximately 35 miles away and can take over an hour to get to Bethesda depending on time of day and traffic. Note: The DC Metro does service IAD, but is not recommended as it will take over 1.5hrs (w/ transfer) to Bethesda.

By Train

NORTHEAST REGIONAL &amp; ACELA Guests traveling from New York can find easy, frequent options through Amtrak for both regional and Acela trains. The train arrives at Union Station which is a ~30 minute Uber ride to the venue and Bethesda.
