What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
We want you to wear what makes you happy and comfortable. Attire will be formal/casual. Sundresses and/or cocktail dresses, suspenders and khakis and/or suit and tie. Shoes discouraged.
What time should I arrive?
We recommend you arrive to the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. The bar will be open 30 minutes prior to ceremony start, grab a drink and relax. When the time arrives, guests will be ushered to their ceremony seats.
Are children welcome?
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?
RSVP deadline is May 14, 2022. RSVP will be online only through our website. See "RSVP" tab above to send in your response.
What will the weather be like?
Expected to be sunny skies with heat.
Will the ceremony and reception be at the same venue?
Yes, the ceremony and reception will be held at The Farmhouse at Emmett Ridge Farm for an evening of fluidity and fun.
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors.
The ceremony and reception are both planned to be held outdoors, weather permitting. The ceremony will take place in an open grass field with rows for seating. The dinner will take place under a large dinner tent on a large, flat grass field and the music will take place on a wooden porch under a large dancing tent.
What happens after the ceremony?
The porch tent will be open with appetizers and drinks to consume and mingle while the wedding party finishes photos.
Where should guests park? Is parking free?
There is an extremely large parking lot at the venue, free of charge. Cars may be left parked in the lot until 10:00 AM the next morning to ensure safe driving. There will be a shuttle to and from the hotel "x" to the venue for ease of guest transportation.
Will transportation to and from the hotel to the venue be provided?
Yes. There will be a total of 3 school buses transporting guests from The Westin Hotel to Emmett Ridge Farm. Bus #1 will arrive at the hotel at 4:45 and depart by 5:00. Bus #2 and #3 will arrive at the hotel at 5:00 and depart by 5:15 with the remaining guests. Strict departure times, so don't be late!
The buses will be available to return guests to the hotel at the close of the evening.
Can I bring a date?
We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?
See the "Travel" tab on our website for more information. We have wedding blocks at two separate hotels. We encourage the use of airbnb or vrbo when available. There are also additional hotels in Amelia, closest to the venue.
Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?
The ceremony and dinner will be held on grass grounds, wheelchair accessible if the ground stays dry and hard. The bathrooms in the clubhouse are wheelchair accessible. The venue parking lot with handicapped parking accommodations.
Will food and drinks be served at the reception?
There will be a cocktail hour with appetizers and drinks.
Dinner will consist of farm to table taco bar with choice of beef/chicken/beans and an array of topping choices.
The bar will be open for beer, wine, juice, soda and water. There will be an additional cash bar for liquors or craft drinks of your choice.
Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?
The beauty of having a taco bar for dinner, our guests have the ability to pick and choose the items that work for them! Vegetarian - maybe stick to the refried beans for your primary protein. Vegan - stick to the flavorful options of fresh home made salsas and veggies. Animal eater - load up on whatever your heart desires.
Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?
Our ceremony will be unplugged, please turn all cell phones off during the ceremony.
Afterwards, we would encourage you to leave your phones in you pockets/purses as much as able. We will have 4 professional photographer/videographers to get all your photo needs.
However, if you do take photos - yes, please post to your social media accounts utilizing our wedding hashtag #runawaywithrunyan so we can keep track of all the extra photos!
