It was our first week at Luther College. Our soccer teams were getting together for the long lived tradition of "Interviews" where one men's and one women's freshman player gets paired up to be interviewed by all of the upper classmen. We just so happened to be interviewed with each other.

While neither of us really remember what we answered, we recognized each other when the next day we walked into the same freshman class (Paideia). Sitting across the room from each other for a month, Carson finally worked up the courage to message Madison for the first time on her birthday. This message consisted of Carson asking what the Paideia homework was for the weekend, which took him over an hour to craft.

Days turned into weeks of us continuing to message one other. Madison started to pick up on Carson's feelings when after class he would rush out the door to wait outside for her just to talk for the five steps it took to get to the staircase before parting ways to go to their next class.

After months of talking and getting to know each other, we finally had our first official date on December 30 of 2017 when we went to see The Greatest Showman.

Over the rest of our time at Luther our relationship strengthened and our love continued to grow. After spending a year apart after graduation, we moved in together in Naperville, Illinois as we both continued our education. Madison studying for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Carson for his Master's in Sport Leadership. After living together for a year, Carson finally popped the question, leading us to our Greatest Show yet!
