If you ask Mady...
Our story began on an impromptu trip to Manchester TN for a music festival. This was my first (and last) time at Bonnaroo. One of my favorite artists was going to be there so me and a friend jumped on the buses to go and work security for the event in exchange for a free ticket. Shaun, who was doing the same thing for a different artist was on that bus. A couple games of crazy8 on the drive down from Johnson City to Manchester and we became fast friends. We bonded over blistered feet and crappy sandwiches they would hand out in the blazing heat. After the weekend was over shaun asked me out.
I was hesitant at first. I lived in Knoxville at the time, and couldn't imagine a guy in his last year of college football while getting his masters would actually make time for me. Thankfully and prayerfully Shaun proved me wrong. He drove two hours to take me on a date and then drove back home. He was nothing but consistent and respectful and continues to be the greatest man in my life. He has always shown up for me and makes me a priority.
After a few switches back and forth from Johnson City to Knoxville we have finally both landed in one place! We have tackled some challenges, but truthfully every bit of our relationship has been fun. Shaun finds a way to make ordinary moments special. We have discovered our greatest adventures are the memories we create together. I am so excited share this next step with someone as thoughtful, kind, and truly hilarious as Shaun! You are the best Shauny boy!
If you ask Shaun...
I first saw Mady on the back of the bus on our trip to Bonaroo and knew she was the one I wanted to be with. I made sure that we were paired up searching cars and always tried to make sure she was having a good time there even though it was 100 plus degrees out in the gravel. While we were all half asleep getting off the bus to go home after we came back, I mustered up the courage to ask Mady out and thankfully she said yes.
During my last year of football, Mady supported me unconditionally as she continues to do to this day. Even during the times where I am overly ambitious, Mady will always tell me "Whatever I am man enough to work and pay for I can do". We always made time on the weekends work while we lived in two different cities, even if I had to drive to Knoxville after an away game and head back to Johnson City first thing in the morning.
Through several moves, job changes, and struggling times, Mady has always been there by my side loving me unconditionally and supporting me in every way possible while creating fun unforgettable memories along the way. We have shared so many memories and experiences together that only bring us closer together and I cannot wait to continue to grow with Mady. I love you beautiful!
