Matt and Mady met over Hinge In June 2022 while Mady was still living in Colorado. She had spent summers in CO as a teenager, working on a ranch. Matt had coincidentally driven by that ranch while in CO on a work trip in 2021, thinking to himself, "it would be awesome to live out here on the Eastern Plain" as he passed the house.

Since they are both AVID golfers, their first date was at TopGolf. It was the last time Matt won any of the games that they often play together.

Since that first date, they have barely spent more than a day apart from each other. (Except for when Matt left for weeks at a time to visit dairies across the US.)

Mady knew Matt was the one when he made her tacos for her birthday. Matt knew Mady was the one when she refused to leave his side for an entire week when he was in the hospital with a mystery illness.
