Our story started back in 2014 as first year college students. Rox is a student from Manila and Mae is a student from Pateros. The two only shared a few interactions with each other when they first met. They had only exchanged glances and few interactions as the first week of college started.

The first time that the two of them had a conversation was during a recollection for first year students wherein both learned things about one another. Rox learned that Mae likes to read wattpad novels from her phone while Mae learned that Rox had written some draft stories on wattpad. During this time the two of them exchanged contact numbers and while talking, Rox also learned that Mae only talked to him because she wanted to make her classmate jealous. As their college lives go by, they become much closer to each other up to the point that they become best friends.

Fast forward to their second term as second year college students, Rox and Mae continued to become best friends however one text message changed their entire lives. One of Rox’s classmates decided to use his cellphone and texted Mae with the words “I love you”. That classmate may have observed some spark and chemistry between Rox and Mae that eventually could turn them into lovers.

Rox talked with Mae on August 3 2015 in order to clear up any misunderstanding and also told her that he needed some time to think in order to make sure that Rox will not intenionally hurt her.

After a while, Rox started his courtship to get that “sweet” yes from Mae to become his girlfriend. As the courtship goes, they both become much closer and their feelings also become much stronger.

Mae gave her yes into becoming Rox’s girlfriend on November 12, and this started a 9-year relationship that is filled with different types of experiences that shaped their entire life.

Mae and Rox experienced life together, they enjoyed the highs and battled the lows that came in their life. Both became each other’s biggest supporters. Together they were able to conquer everything that life threw at them.

August 12 2023, the date when Rox asked Mae to marry him, in an intimate venue wherein it felt like a dream because Mae answered his question using the three letters that he is looking forward to.

YES! We are getting married, and we felt this intense wave of emotions and realizations that after 9 years of being boyfriend and girlfriend. We are now finally becoming husband and wife!
