Our story begins in 2011 when we both started new careers with the Texas DPS Crime Laboratory. Over the next two years, we grew from coworkers, to friends, to best friends. We have been inseparable ever since. Quickly we discovered our shared interest in road-tripping, whether going to see family, visiting historical sites, hiking at state parks, or simply driving around town. Last fall, my mom was visiting, and we wanted to share with her our favorite small Texas town, Fredericksburg. We spent the day driving around to wineries, the trade days flea market, and perusing local shops. I had no idea that Adrian had already asked my mom for permission to marry me, and that he had been carrying the ring in his pocket all day waiting for the perfect moment. He finally found it as we were walking along a trail at Old Tunnel State Park that evening. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect ending to a perfect day.
