Where to begin! I was a junior at Whittier College and had been working as an athletic trainer assistant aka water girl for the baseball team. Of course, each year we get those brand new freshmen on the team that no one really pays attention to. However, I learned really quickly that there was one freshman that stood out from the rest. "Lamar" was all I kept hearing in the dugout. I kept asking myself who is this "Lamar" guy? I thought to myself, I'm sure I gave him water, wrapped his arm with ice, or gave him a strange look after he stormed into the dugout after a bad play. A year goes by and I am entering my senior year at Whittier and Andrew and I are in the same Jan Term class. The first day Andrew sits at my table and I have no idea who this guy is. I knew the baseball player he sat next to, which made me assume that he was a baseball player too. Sure enough, he was and just so happened to be "Lamar." All I remember from that day was Andrew fidgeting with my keys and finally figuring out who Andrew Lamar was. That was the last of it, so I thought. I graduated and years had passed when I found myself at Andrews house pregaming with a bunch of Whittier friends for a night at Montanas (country bar). That night I kept thinking to myself, wow this guy is cute!! Later that night he asked me to dance and I couldn't get over how smoothe he danced and how secure I felt. He asked for my number and he texted me the next day. I still remember how excited I got when he did. That night was one of the best and a night I will cherish forever!
Gosh, our story begins back at Whittier College. Maegan was a soccer player and I was on the baseball team. Maegan used to be the water girl for the baseball team and would give us water after coming in after an inning. However, she never seemed to give me water. She would avoid me actually. I was the ball boy for her soccer games and I would constantly try to get her attention, but she kept throwing me the cold shoulder. The next semester came and we ended up in the same class. I saw one of my teammates and sat between my teammate and Maegan. Wow, she gave me the dirtiest look. It definitely seemed like she did not like me very much. A few years pass and we met each other through my friend. We went to Montanas, which is a country bar, and I can just remember Maegan's face when I asked her to dance. She took a second and after the worry feeling was starting to sink in, she said yes. After that it was history. We have been inseparable ever since. Apparently, I am a good dancer. (;
