Q + A

What is the best way to get to Vail?

The nearest major airport is Denver International Airport (DEN), which is about a two-hour drive from Vail. There are several transportation options available, including rental cars, shuttles, and private car services. Please check the Travel tab on our website for more detailed airport shuttle information.

How do we get around Vail & Avon?

There is a free shuttle system that runs throughout Vail. There is also a bus that connects Avon and Vail. The Marriott that we have a room block at is a couple minute walk from one of the shuttle stops so you can conveniently get into town.

Where should we stay?

We recommend staying in either Avon or Vail as we will provide transportation the night of the wedding to and from both locations. Avon is about 15 minutes from the wedding venue, while Vail is about 25 minutes. There are numerous hotels, lodges, and Airbnbs in both areas to suit different preferences and budgets. Please check the Travel tab for room block link & information.

Will transportation be provided to and from the wedding venue?

Yes! There will be a pickup spot in both Avon and Vail to transport guests to and from venue. Vail pickup spot is Vail Transportation Center & Avon pickup spot is Avon Rec Center. Pickup times and further details will be provided at a later date closer to the wedding.

What is the dress code?

The dress code for our wedding is Black Tie optional. Keep in mind that Vail can be cooler in the evenings, so you may want to bring a light jacket or wrap.

What will the weather be like?

In late August, daytime highs are usually in the mid-70s to low 80s. Evening lows can drop to the mid-40s to low 50s, so it's a good idea to bring a light jacket or sweater for the evenings. August can have occasional afternoon thunderstorms, but they are usually brief. It's a good idea to have a light rain jacket or umbrella just in case.

Things to do?

We will have pre-wedding activities planned the week of the wedding, as well as a list of all the amazing things to do in this area. Check back for more details, we're putting together a fun list of activities for the week!

What shoes should I wear?

The ceremony site is about a 150ft walk on mulch, so be mindful of that when selecting heels. Otherwise, the entire venue is suitable for all heel types. We will provide flip flops for the dance party :)
