Q + A

What the eff took so long?

We couldn't decide! We went through all the options: big wedding, small wedding, beach wedding, destination wedding, mountain wedding, national park wedding, traditional wedding, non-traditional wedding...... With the more time that passed we came to the same conclusion: we wanted to do it our way, in a way that made us happy and without spending an arm and a leg to do it.

Eloping? In Bora Bora?

YES! We wanted to get married SOOOOOO bad, but didn't want to deal with the stress of a traditional wedding. So we decided on an adventure, with a beautiful tradition, in an intimate setting - which was what we wanted all along.

What's happening in Maine? I thought you were Eloping?

We are having a beautiful ceremony on the beach in Bora Bora and will be married by a Tahitian priest on 4/9/26. While the marriage is recognized by the people of Tahiti (the older ones) it is not recognized by the US government. That's okay with us, it gives us the chance to have an intimate (and legal) ceremony with our families in the states - which will be the only thing missing in Bora Bora.

What do you mean by 'nothing fancy'?

We will be having a backyard wedding in Maine; with gorgeous views and our favorite people. These are the important things for us, so what more do we need?

Yikes, that's far for a backyard wedding

We understand that the location is severely out of the way for almost every person on our guest list and that the venue may be a deal breaker for some. We would love to have you here with us, but we completely understand that this is not feasible for all - so please don't feel like you are obligated to attend. We will happily share all the photos with you.

What do I wear?

We would love to see you all in summery resort casual (no jeans or t-shirts) and avoid wearing a white/cream dress - we only have capacity for one and it's already been filled. Heels are also not recommended. Other than that show up in whatever makes you feel comfortable and ready to dance the night away.

What does "summery resort casual" mean?

We want you looking like your fabulous self for photos, but also comfy. This is an outdoor summer wedding in Maine where it's bound to be hot, so please keep the weather in mind. Ladies: Flowy, colorful, lightweight dresses, jumpsuits or separates. Gents: light dress shirt with khakis or lightweight slacks (jackets and ties optional).

Anything else I need to know about the location?

We are getting married outside, on the grass overlooking the West Bay at an old hunting camp. Please bring something warm to wear in case you get cold. Heels are not recommended. Ladies especially: please make sure to bring a comfortable pair of shoes as there may be some walking involved depending on where you park.

What's the Bathroom situation looking like?

Here's the deal - Camp has no running water, which makes toilets a bit of a struggle. There will be some classy a** porta potties and hand washing stations to use, should nature call. (Disclaimer: By "classy a**" we mean we'll put some flowers or twinkly lights or something on the outside...it will still be a porta potty).

Where do I stay?

Check out the 'Travel' page for hotel block info, but definitely check out Airbnb and Vrbo for other options.

Where do I park the "cah"?

There is no parking at the venue, yes you read that right, none. You will be able to park on the Gouldsboro Point Rd, on the same side of the street as the Valente Rd and then walk to the venue. We will put up markers to signal where you can park.

Wait, I need to walk to reach the venue?

Did we mention that this was going to be an adventure? Now you understand why we said no heels for the ladies, or to bring a comfortable pair of shoes. Yes - walking will be involved to reach the venue, but we promise the scenery will be pretty and it will be over before you know it!

Can I drop off the passengers in my car before I park?

Absolutely! You can drop people off on the grass lane which is much closer to the venue. The only problem is that it is a one lane road, with trees on either side, that doesn't have any turn around spots. So if you come down the grass lane you will need to put your backup skills to the test.

Can I bring my kids and/or a plus one?

Due to various restrictions, unless specifically listed on the invitation and/or RSVP page, any kids/plus ones are unfortunately not invited.

I don't get along with person x, are you going to sit me near them?

Suck it up buttercup! Just remember that we love you all and this is our day, so y'all better act right! That being said, we will do our best to seat you as far from each other as possible. Anyone caught being rude or causing drama will be sacrificed to the mosquitos.

I missed the date to RSVP but still want to come!!

Bring a sandwich and a chair!
