In 2012, I was living in midtown Atlanta with my good friend Mary and Talmadge was living in Charlotte with his good friend, Hunter. One weekend, Talmadge and Hunter decided to come to Atlanta for the Falcons/Panthers game. And the night before the game... they decided to hit the town. On that same night, Mary and I also decided to hit the town for a girls night out in the Virginia Highlands. At some point, all four of us found ourselves at the same dive bar, Hand in Hand. Talmadge and I met that night at Hand in Hand.... exchanged numbers... and continued to talk over the phone and via text until he came back down to visit a few months later. We stayed in a long distance relationship, seeing each other every few weeks and taking turns driving to Atlanta or Charlotte, until I moved to Charlotte in the summer of 2014.Fast forward to August 2016.... Talmadge and I decided to take our puppy Penny to the park. The weather had been rainy all day and I didn't want to go, but Talmadge convinced me otherwise. We strolled around the lake and as we crossed the bridge, he dropped down to one knee and asked me to marry him! If you have seen our engagement pictures and remember the outfit I was wearing, you know that I had no idea it was coming. I know I speak for Talmadge as well when I say that we are so excited to start the next chapter of our lives together. And we can't wait to celebrate the start of that next chapter with all of you on November 4, 2017!!xoxo

There are a few airports you can fly into...1) Asheville Regional Airport (seems obvious but you never know) - It's small so flights may be pricey and flight times are limited.2) Charlotte Douglas International Airport - Charlotte is about 2.5 hours away from Asheville. It's an easy drive and we do it on a semi-regular basis.3) Greenville-Spartanburg Airport - Even though you'll be landing in South Carolina, you're only an 1.5 hours away from Asheville if you fly into Greenville.

Wicked Weed is a popular brewery and it's one of our favorite places to go when we're in town. They have a huge selection of beer (with a specialty in sours!), delicious food and a great patio. If you go, make sure to go downstairs to the tasting room.

Right around the corner from Wicked Weed, Bhramari is another one of our favorites! It's the perfect blend of an industrial and 'crunchy' vibe. They have an awesome patio that's perfect for brunching... and drinking

If you're looking for a breakfast sandwich - Homegrown is the place to go! It's all locally grown food and super affordable. It gets busy, but it's worth the wait. We recommend their Biscuit Samiches!

Smoky Park Supper Club is an restaurant alongside the French Broad river in the River Arts District of Asheville. It was built entirely out of shipping containers and is the largest restaurant to do that in the United States. The food is delicious and southern... but the cocktails are even better!

Crow and Quill is a 'secret' bar in Asheville that you might miss if you're not looking for it! From the outside, it looks like an abandoned building... but inside it's like a bar straight out of the movie Midnight in Paris (1920s speakeasy for those not familiar). It's small, quiet and good for a drink to start or finish your night.
