Our Wedding

Maggie and Gareth met in July of 2022, shortly after Maggie moved to Rochester. She had invited some friends to her family’s lake house in northern Minnesota for a weekend getaway, and, hoping to set them up, they asked if their friend Gareth could join. Of course, Maggie couldn't say "no". Maggie and Gareth quickly bonded over their shared love of food, the outdoors, and spontaneous adventures. The chemistry was there, but when the weekend ended, Gareth wasn’t interested in pursuing anything further. They went their separate ways and, for the next several months, they remained friends while dating other people.During that time, Gareth was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Though they weren’t in close contact, Maggie quietly kept up with how he was doing through mutual friends. Gareth underwent surgery to remove the cancer in February 2024, and they reconnected the following April with a hike at White Water State Park. There was some light flirting, but nothing serious came from it. Maggie continued to reach out in the following months, but Gareth remained noncommittal.On a camping trip with coworkers, Maggie shared how much she liked Gareth. Her friends encouraged her to reach out one last time — so she did. In August 2024, they went on their first official date to play golf (Maggie likes to think she won). From that point forward, they spent almost every evening together, cooking meals, talking about life, and building a strong connection based on honesty, shared goals, and of course a little sarcasm. They truly value their deep, meaningful discussions. This solid foundation is what has made their relationship strong from the beginning. They continue to enjoy trying new foods, cooking different recipes, exercising, traveling, and spending time with family.On September 14, 2025, Gareth brought their story full circle by proposing to Maggie at White Water State Park — the same place where they reconnected and everything started to fall into place.

When is the RSVP deadline? 

Please RSVP by Saturday August 1st. If we do not receive your RSVP by August 1st, we will assume that you will not be able to make the wedding.

Are kids welcome?

We thought you'd enjoy the night off, so please join us for our adults-only reception.

Is there a dress code?

Semi-formal/formal attire is preferred. Please do not wear jeans. There is a rooftop lounge area that you are welcome to enjoy throughout the evening. Dress accordingly.

Where do I park for the ceremony and reception? 

For the ceremony, there is a large blacktop parking lot directly beside the church. For the reception, there is limited street parking. There is a 35-car public parking lot behind the Riverside Foursquare Church, directly across from the distillery. There is also a larger lot located behind the distillery on the riverfront levee. However, law does not allow crossing of the railroad track by foot, unless at the Jones Street crossing.
