It all started on a choir trip to New York in April of 2012. Maggie and I had known of each other before then, but that trip was when we really started talking. As the trip progressed, we went from casual conversations to inside jokes and late-night talks faster than either of us expected. By the time we got back home, I knew there was something special about her.
On October 10, 2012, we made it official as I asked Maggie to be my girlfriend in the marching band parking lot. From that moment on, she became my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the person who makes life feel like a never ending adventure. We've grown up together, through high school, college, new jobs, and new experiences. In every high and low, we’ve had each other’s backs, side by side through it all. Maggie has always encouraged me to seek the Lord first, reminding me of His goodness in every season. Ecclesiastes 4:12 has reminded us that "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." We've seen the truth of that in our journey as our love is strongest when Christ is at the center.
Fast forward to September 22, 2023. I knew there was only one place fitting enough to ask Maggie to spend forever with me, back in New York, where our story truly began. As we stood together in the city that first brought us close, I got down on one knee and asked the easiest question of my life. As we look back where the Lord has brought us today, we’re excited for His plan for this new chapter in our lives!
