Christmastime 2012. Everyone is in Sarasota visiting their families. Beata makes plans to meet up with her friends at Geckos. Both Maggie and Dan decide to join. Back story: Maggie and Beata have been friends for 19 years and Dan and Beata went to art school together and have been friends since. However, Maggie and Dan had never met before that night. As soon as everyone got there the secret texts between Beata, Monika, Maggie, and Dan began. It was like middle school "who is your friend?" "she is cute" "isn't he cute?" "you should talk to him" "he is cute" etc. Maggie and Dan hit it off. They spent the rest of the night talking and dancing. Maggie invited Dan to her sister-in-laws Christmas party the following day. Dan was the first to arrive at the party, wearing a button up and a tie, and came with a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white wine (he wasn't sure which the family prefers) and Maggie knew right there that he was awesome.

How we met

After the Christmas party Maggie and Dan spent as much time as they could together. Dan was in the Air Force and living in Valdosta, Georgia and Maggie was attending Law School in Chicago. Dan came up to visit Maggie a bunch and they started a long distance relationship for about 3 months. Then the long distance relationship became an even longer distance relationship when Dan was stationed in Bagram Afghanistan for 6 months. They made it work and face timed twice a day. When Dan returned to the States he had 6 more months in the Air Force. Last June Dan started his residency in Chicago and the two finally got to live together. They have a cute apartment in Wicker Park, Chicago and recently adopted their first dog Astrid.

Then….

It was Dan's birthday party. The theme was the 80's and Dan was dressed as Marty McFly from Back to the Future. Maggie had no idea that Dan would propose because who proposes during their own birthday party, but he did. Dan sat everyone down in front of the tv and showed a slideshow he prepared and at the end asked Maggie to marry him. Maggie was very surprised and of course said yes.

Lenka is married to Maggie's brother Sebastian. The first time they met Maggie was not very nice and Lenka will never let her forget it BUT ever since they have been very close. They love each other like sisters and maybe even fight just like sisters.

Lance is Dan's older brother. He is a detective in Largo, FL, and despite thinking that he's a badass, he's actually a giant nerd who plays video games and a great dad. He is married to Trista and their children, Jackson and Delaney, are the ring bearer and flower girl in the wedding.

Lance Wagoner

Chloe and Maggie met doing theater at Booker High School and lived together in undergrad at Florida State University. They even lived within walking distance to each other in Chicago. Chloe now lives in L.A, which makes Maggie sad, but they keep in touch with Sykpe wine dates. Chloe will be giving the speech at the wedding.

Ryan is Dan's little brother and is married to Maddy. Ryan is in the "film industry" and best friends with Ryan Gosling. They often get together to play with Lego's and drink espresso, talking about scripts long into the night.

Kamila and Maggie met in 1996 before starting 7th grade and have been friends for 19 years. The two bonded over plastic shoes and the song "Coco Jumbo" by Mr. President. Kamila will also be doing Maggie's make-up and making her look beautiful.

Jesse is one Dan's best friends and married to the lovely Samantha. They have known each other for almost 20 years, acting almost like a couple....finishing each others sentences, borrowing underwear, and holding hands on the beach.

Dave is one of Dan's best friends and married to the adorable Summer and father to handsome Zachary, who Dan is the Godfather to. Dave and Dan have known each FOREVER and once built a giant robot that would have been a great success had it not destroyed an entire town and had to be dismantled.

Beata and Maggie also have know each other for 19 years. Their families are very close and spend all their holidays together. If it wasn't for Beata, Dan and Maggie would have never met, she is the one to thank for this awesome wedding.

Seba is Maggie's older brother and married to the amazing Lenka (Maggie's Maid of Honor). Seba is registered in the State of Florida as a lethal weapon due to his many skills as a martial artist and will double as security for the wedding. Aforementioned skills all learned under the strict tutelage of Jean-Claude Van Damme. 

Sebastian Jasinski

Alicia and Maggie met while bar tending together in Tampa. The two set on an adventure and moved to Chicago together. Alicia kept Maggie sane during her 3 years of law school and they helped each other stay positive during the grey awful Chicago winters.

Delaney is Dan's niece. She is the sweetest girl and loves her uncle very much. She is 4 years old, loves to dress up, looks like a beautiful ice queen and  loves to sing Frozen.

Jackson is Lance and Trista's little boy and Dan's nephew. He is taking time off from his training as a Jedi Padawan to attend the wedding in order to present the One Ring(s) to Dan and Maggie.

Donna and Mike are Dan's Mother and Step-Father. Donna is finally taking time off her busy schedule as the only woman in American history to deliver a 1/4 of the nations babies and Mike has just returned from his journey in a giant man-piloted drill to the Earth's core in order to see their son married.

Maggie's mom: She lives and works in Sarasota. If you see someone in Sarasota with nice eyebrows, Teresa probably did them. Teresa raised Maggie by herself since Maggie was 13 years old. She rocks and loves to dance. She is super excited to have Dan join the family.  The two families will have a lot of fun together!

Lew and Wendy are Dan's Father and Step-Mother. Expect Lew to arrive to the wedding in full plate mail and claymore as he recently returned to SEAL Team 11 as their new LARP assassin. Wendy will be joining him, though clearly in order to keep him from hurting himself more than others.

Wedding Planner: Monika and Maggie have known each other for 18 years. Monika was there the first night Maggie and Dan met and helped push the two together. Monika is helping Maggie and Dan plan the whole wedding. Thank you Monika!

DJ: Jawara and Maggie have been friends since high school. Jawara is one of the nicest people in the world and the best DJ. He's going to make us party and dance!

Jawara Gordon 

Patrick will be the Wedding Vow Officiant. Dan and he met while serving in the Air Force. Their last mission together involved a top secret covert operation that involved a herd of Afghanistan goats that were trained as deadly assassins, some say actually killed Osama Bin Laden. Dan shortly thereafter separated from the military under dubious circumstances while SLAG went on to run for and become the next US President.

MC: Shakira and Maggie have known each other since middle school, where they met in detention. Shakira has produced lots of events and festivals in the Netherlands and Sarasota. She is going to help make this wedding fun! Shakira recently started working in the real estate industry.

From the highway: Traveling either South or North on I-75, take exit 205/Clark Rd. Stay on Clark Rd., which becomes Stickney Point Rd., for about 6 miles till you hit 41 Tamiami Trail. Take a left at 41 Tamiami Trail. Travel for 0.4 miles and the venue will be on the left. You can park anywhere, but the entrance for our wedding will be on the right, back side of the building. For the ceremony, enter the outside courtyard.

Directions

There will be a bus that takes everyone from the condos to the venue, leaving at 5:10 PM. The bus will do two trips back to the condos during the wedding for those wanting to leave earlier at 9:00 PM and 10:30 PM and the last trip will be at midnight after the wedding. If you need to leave at different times Sarasota does have Uber, which we recommend over Taxi's. Yes, this is the Magic School Bus so songs will be sung, not so sure about the learning part.

Travel from Condos to Venue 

If you are flying, you can fly into three different airports. Tampa International Airport is about 1 hour north of Sarasota and you can rent a car (recommend) or Super Shuttle can take you from Tampa Airport to Sarasota Airport (or other locations in Sarasota) for around $57. Sarasota has an airport (SRQ). It may be a little bit more expensive, but it is much more convenient. It's located about 20 mins. from the venue/beach. Also, because it is such a small airport, check in and going through security only takes about 15 mins., so sometimes that's worth the extra cost when flying out and getting extra time at the beach. Cabs may be available, or call ahead to reserve. If you are staying longer and want to explore Sarasota, we recommend renting a car. There is a Super Shuttle, but you have to book the whole van which seats 10 people for $96. Sarasota does have Uber. Lastly, if necessary, there is also Ft. Myers International Airport which is about 1:30 hrs. South of Sarasota. Usually, Tampa and Ft. Myers have similar prices, so I recommend Tampa because it's closer, but it's always worth checking out.

The condos are provided by a friend of Maggie's mom so we want to make sure that any extra rooms not needed for us they can rent out to the general public. Condos are located on Siesta Key, on the intercoastal and just across the street from the beach (5min walk). Let them know this is for Maggie Jasinska's and Dan Wagoner's Wedding. 1 Bedroom 1 Bath Condo = $ 952 Bedroom 1 Bath Condo= $ 1201 Bedroom 1 Bath Cottage= $ 1002 Bedroom 2 Bath Cottage= $ 1253 Bedroom 2 Bath Cottage = $ 145Please be aware there is a 12% tax which includes FL state plus some weird resort tax. So the only thing you need to pay for is the room + tax. They were nice enough to waive their other fees. These are all fully furnished with kitchens and most will have outside seating. There is a heated pool, BBQ area, and grassy area for activities, all look over the intercoastal. There is a dock for fishing and lights for night fishing. There are also laundry facilities located on the premise. Check out "things to do" for information surrounding the condos. For everyone staying at the condos we will be doing breakfast together Sunday morning in the clubhouse.

Travel

It's on the key and it's beautiful. If you are staying at the condos, there is beach access, all you have to do is cross the street. Maybe a 3 min walk. If you drive to the main beach there is a parking lot, which fills up quickly.

Siesta Beach 

The Village has bars, restaurants, shops, salons , and rentals. You can rent bicycles, kayaks, scooters, jet skis, or go parasailing. Sun Garden Cafe is great for breakfast, Daiquiri Deck/Gilligans/SKOB are some fantastic watering holes with food. The Beach Club/Gilligans is great for night time dancing. If you need tourist-y things then check out The Beach Bazaar.

Provides free rides on the key, all you need to do is tip.

Free Ride 

The competition starts Friday the 13th and ends Sunday the 15th at noon. You can go explore the beach and see the sand castles. I recommend going Saturday before the wedding or Sunday when all of them are done. Its $6 cash only. But you can probably walk around perimeter and still see most of them.

Siesta Key Sand Sculpting Competition 

For those of you staying at the condos and want to stock up on some food, go to Publix. For those of you not from the south, it's the nice BIG grocery store.

Trader Joes 

If you are staying longer the next few things are for you. Located near the airport, this is a world renowned museum that was started by John Ringling (yes of the circus!) many years ago. Besides the art, there is a circus museum and John &amp; Mable's house, called the Ca' D'Zan, which are not to be missed. All surrounded by beautiful gardens and banyan trees.

Displaying some classic Main Street charm, this area has plenty of bars, shops, and restaurants to check out. Sarasota is a center for the arts (including food!) and this area is a must see.

Downtown Sarasota 

Located on Sarasota Harbor, this is a beautiful island park that is perfect for taking a stroll anytime, day or night. While there you can appreciate the local artist's sculptures and sometimes spot dolphins playing in the water. There is also a Tiki Bar and restaurant located here should you need. Just outside the park there is also a bridge that spans the harbor and is great for walking and taking in the sights.

Island Park 

There are a lot of boutiques, sometimes a little pricey but it's fun to walk around and plenty of great places to eat, recommend Surf Shack.
