How it started:

Maggie and Jed both grew up in Antigo, WI. Maggie was a year older than Jed in school and although the two knew of each other with Antigo being a small town, the two never interacted until one night over Thanksgiving break in 2019. Both Maggie and Jed were at a bar north of Antigo and started talking (with the help of Ryan and Caroline Schmidt). After a few (or many) drinks the two hit it off. They hung out again the next night and Maggie went to visit Jed in Eau Claire the weekend after. They were pretty much inseparable after that. Maggie was working as a nurse in Wausau, WI and after graduation Jed accepted a phy ed and health teaching position in Wausau and the two moved there together August of 2020. In July of 2021 Maggie and Jed bought their dog Auggie, an English Cream Retriever, who instantly became the love of their lives (especially Maggie's). The three of them bought their first home together in the summer of 2022 and that following September 28, Maggie's birthday, Jed proposed.

The Proposal:

On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, Jed, Maggie, and Auggie went on a hike up granite peak. All seemed normal and the three hurried back down in order to get to dinner at Red Eye Brewery with Maggie's parents for her birthday. All seemed normal at dinner, and at around 8pm Maggie and Jed headed home. Little did Maggie know, their friends Jessica and Nick Anderson were at their house setting up the most beautiful proposal (with Auggie's help of course). When the two of them got home, they pulled in as normal and Jed walked Maggie to the backyard. Once there, with lights strung, candles all over the yard, and Marry Me letters set up, Jed asked Maggie to marry him. Auggie soon appeared outside with the zoomies, making it the happiest night of their lives.
