Weekend Information

Where is the Wedding?

The Wedding itself will be hosted at the Portmarnock Hotel. This includes the Wedding Ceremony, Cocktail Reception, and Wedding Reception. The Welcome Party, a part of the Wedding Weekend Festivities, will be hosted at JR Mahon's.

Are kids invited?

Due to limited numbers, we hope you can appreciate and understand that children are only invited to Wedding Events if they are a niece or nephew of the bride or groom.

Can I bring a guest or date?

As much as we would love to, we unfortunately cannot accommodate additional guests to any of the Wedding Event activities due to limited capacity. We can only allow the people named on your invitation to attend the Welcome Party, and Wedding day events (Wedding Ceremony, Cocktail Reception, and Wedding Reception). Your invitation will be made out to "(Your name) & Guest" if a plus one has been given to you. If you have any questions on this, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

When should I RSVP by?

To help us with planning, please RSVP as soon as you are able. However, the deadline to RSVP is May 1st, 2025. If we do not receive your RSVP by this date, we will have to automatically mark you as a 'no' as we need to provide details to the venue the first week of June. Thank you for understanding!

Welcome Party

Welcome Party: What is the Dress Code?

For the Welcome Party we are encouraging a Smart/Dressy Casual ensemble. We suggest women wear a sundress, jeans and a nice top, or, however you interpret Smart/Dressy Casual. We suggest for men a light dress shirt with jeans or slacks, a golf polo, or, however you interpret Dressy Casual. Kilts are always acceptable.

Welcome Party: Will There be a shuttle?

Yes! There will be a shuttle service provided from the Portmarnock Resort for round trip transportation. The shuttle will leave at set times, if you miss the shuttle you will be responsible to provide your own transportation.

Welcome Party: Will there be an open bar?

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Yes - Drinks will be provided for the first 2 hours of the event. After that, the bar will remain open as a cash bar, so please bring cash or a credit card to enjoy continued bar service.

Welcome Party: Will food be provided?

Kinda. Please plan your evening meal prior to the Welcome Party. While there will be light snacks, it probably won't be substantial enough to be considered dinner.

Wedding Day

Wedding Day: What is the Dress Code?

Semi-Formal Attire is requested for the Wedding Day - dress to impress! We suggest women wear a cocktail dress or a nice pantsuit. We suggest men wear a suit or a kilt is always acceptable. Jeans and golf-wear are highly discouraged.

Wedding Day: Can I take pictures during your Wedding Ceremony?

As much as we would love to encourage your artistic expression through photography, during our Wedding Ceremony, we are kindly asking you please keep all photo-capable devices turned off and away. We have an amazing hired professional (shout out Erin!) to take photos during our big day and we want to ensure she has no interruptions or obstacles in her way (aka you and your phone) to capture our big day. Thank you in advanced! And if you forget, my beautiful bridesmaid, Amelia, is happy to remind you.

Wedding Day: Will the Wedding be outside?

Yes! The Wedding Ceremony and Cocktail Reception will both be outside (weather permitting). The reception and dinner will be indoors.

Wedding Day: Will there be an open bar?

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Certain beers, wines, and seltzers will be complimentary.

Wedding Day: Will there be a shuttle?

As the wedding is hosted on the same site as the recommended hotel room block, there will be no shuttle service provided for transportation on the day of the wedding.

Portmarnock Hotel Check-In & Check-Out Information?

Check-In time is 4:00 pm and should you arrive early, luggage can be left in the Concierge storage room in the main lobby. Check-out time is 12:00pm. You may purchase a late check-out for 3:00pm at an additional €50.00 charge and is subject to availability during your stay.

Is there a restaurant onsite at Portmarnock?

Yes! There are a couple different food options onsite.

The 1780 Restaurant – Breakfast

Monday – Friday 7am – 10:30am

Saturday – Sunday 7am – 11:00am

The Seaview Lounge – lunch

Open daily from 9am

Monday – Friday

Light Lunch served

12 noon – 3:30 pm

They also serve Afternoon Team on Weekends from 1pm to 4pm.

The Jameson Bar – Bar food

Monday - Friday 3:30 pm - 9pm

Saturday - Sunday 11am - 9pm

There is also Room Service available.
