**We want to bring to everyone's attention that the venue, Buttercups Home, is a historic house here in Portsmouth. A lot of the house is still in original condition, which makes it very fragile. We please ask that you are careful and respectful of the home, so nothing gets damaged.
What is the dress code?
We plan on having a pretty laid back ceremony and reception! We don't have any specific dress code. Wear whatever you feel your best in!
It will be October, and here in Virginia we know our weather is quite touchy. We plan on having our ceremony and reception outside on the property, should weather permit. We will move our ceremony onto the porch or indoors if it rains. Please bring an extra sweater or jacket in the event that it is chilly.
What type of food will be served?
The lovely Beach Bully BBQ will be catering! Pulled pork, fried chicken, and a few good-for-the-soul style sides. We will have a cocktail hour with drinks and finger foods as well!
What if I have a food allergy?
We understand food allergies all too well. We will not be serving anything with peanuts at the wedding, as well as staying away from cayenne pepper, avocados, and strawberries. We've attempted to keep our food and dessert options as allergen friendly as possible, but please make sure to talk with Maggie if you have any questions regarding allergy concerns.
Do you have a registry?
Yes! We were getting lots of questions about this. We truly don’t need anything besides your presence, but if you feel inclined, we would prefer cash. We also set up a small registry on Amazon that I have linked to our website.
Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
Absolutely! We will have a wonderful photographer taking photos for us, but we would love nothing more than to have some candid shots and videos as well! The more photos the better!
We please ask though that you are respectful of Bry's time and space, as she's an amazing photographer.
Can I bring a plus one?
Unfortunately, no. As much as we would love to have more people on our big day, our venue can only accommodate those that we have invited specifically.
Will children be allowed?
We will be having a child-free wedding.
Due to space restrictions, we cannot accommodate anyone under the age of 18.
