What is the dress code for the ceremony and reception?
The dress code is formal. Ladies should wear a long evening dress or formal cocktail-length dress while men should wear a suit and tie.
When should I arrive?
Friday night there will be a casual welcome cocktail party so that the bride and groom can greet friends and family. If you can attend, you are absolutely welcome! The wedding itself will be Saturday from 5 pm to 11 pm. At the absolute latest, we recommend you arrive by midmorning Saturday, August 31st.
What can I do Saturday morning?
Check out the "Things to do" tab for some awesome ideas! Those staying at Bear Lake Reserve will also have some wonderful lake day options for a relaxing, nature-filled day before the ceremony.
What should I do if I plan on flying in?
The nearest airport is in Asheville, North Carolina about an hour away from Sylva, so we will be attempting to organize guests who are flying in into two main "pick up" and "drop off" times. Please contact us so that we can help coordinate your arrival and departure. We are so excited to see all of you!
What should I do if I have food allergies or preferences?
Please contact us and let us know so we can do our best to accommodate you. For our lovely dairy-free friends, there will of course be many dairy-free options!
How should I get to the wedding?
We will be providing transportation two and from the Comfort Inn and Bear Lake Reserve. There are no Uber or Lyft options in this area, so if you are not staying at one of those two places you will need to arrange transportation to and from one of those two hotels (we recommend having or renting a car for this purpose if that applies to you). There will be a valet at the venue if you choose to drive yourself to and from the ceremony and reception.
