You can thank Julie Wegele (Maggie's mom) for this wedding invitation.
We've sure been on a rollercoaster these past four years!
It all started June of 2019 when we met for the first time where I (Maggie) had no memory of it and Eddie thought I was mean. We met again in January of 2020 (for real, because I can corroborate this time) at a game night with our friends Andrew and Rana, and hit it off. Unfortunately, the timing just wasn't right for us. I had been dumped a couple of months prior, and Eddie had been advised to wait to ask me out. Fast forward another year and the time was right! February 15, 2021, we braved a snowstorm to have a movie night with dear mutual friends--the same Andrew and Rana! We were the only ones invited who showed up, which gave Eddie the opportunity to finally ask me out. Woo!
We spent the next eight months becoming best friends, but we still had some maturing to do... We made the decision to break up, and we thought our time was over.
That's where Julie comes in.
She and Jesus must have had some kind of plan cooking in the background. For two whole years, she never lost contact with Eddie, never stopped bringing him up in conversation, and also never stopped inviting him to our house--much to my dismay. We went from being angry and bitter towards each other, forgiving each other, being pretty ambivalent toward each other, to taking a teeny bit of interest in each other. Though, neither of us felt it was ever the right time to bring that up.
Until it was.
One day in late October 2023, Eddie had the courage to ask me if I was still "Ew Eddie, No Eddie, Ew." I said no.
Then he said, "Well, I'm ready to start dating again, and I would prefer if it was with you."
We are so thankful everyday that the Lord matured us, grew our relationship with Him, and blessed us with a mama to bring us back together again in His perfect timing. And now we are even more thankful to celebrate with so many people we love, who have stood by us, encouraged us, and prayed for us throughout our lives and relationship.
Now... Let's get this party started!
