Where is the wedding? What is the parking situation?
The wedding and reception will be held at Mustard Seed Hill in beautiful Millersburg, KY. There will be plenty of free parking available for you! The address to the venue is 1122 Main St, Millersburg, KY 40348.
What time should I arrive to the ceremony?
The ceremony will start promptly at 5:30pm. We ask that all guests arrive and are seated by 5:15pm at the latest. If you arrive late, we ask you wait until the bridal parties have walked down the aisle before entering the ceremony. Come get a good seat starting at 5:00pm to hear some tunes carefully curated by Eric’s soon to be personal DJ.
What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
Comfort is important to us! So wear what you will be able to be comfortable in and be able to bust a move in later! Our colors are wine red and navy blue, so if you feel so inclined to match the color theme, please do! We recommend jeans or khakis and a nice shirt for guys and a comfortable fall dress for the ladies! The ceremony and reception is in grass, so we recommend comfy shoes with a low or block heel. The bride has respectfully asked for NO WHITE, CREAM, CHAMPAGNE, EGGSHELL, OR ANY LIKE COLOR!
What will the weather be like?
We are all very aware of the crazy Kentucky weather. While we are praying for perfect weather, please tune into the forecast! The ceremony is outside in open air and the reception will be under an open-sided tent.
Can I take pictures during the ceremony and post them on social media?
We ask that all guests respect our wishes for an "unplugged" ceremony and enjoy the ceremony in the moment with us. Please refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony and posting them on social media until the bride and groom have said I Do! Our photographer is PHENOMENAL and will not miss a moment! We will have a wedding "POV" account, which takes virtual disposable camera photos. Please look for the signs at the wedding on how to create your account! Stay tuned to our personal Facebook pages for photos from our big day!
What happens after the ceremony?
The bride, groom, bridal party and families will be taking an hour for photos. We will have a variety of finger foods and drinks available during cocktail hour, as well as plenty of yard games for you to get some sweet competition in! Right now, UK is scheduled to play Ole Miss, so if it is a 7pm game, it will be on the big screen!
What kind of food will be served?
During our tailgate-style cocktail hour, you can enjoy several yummy snacks to satisfy your hunger after the ceremony and to soak up some of that alcohol! For our first supper as Mr. and Mrs., we invite you to join us for some excellent local BBQ and all the fixins'!
Will there be an open bar?
We will be providing a selection of beer, wine and spirits as you help us celebrate our big day. They will have a tip jar, so if you feel so inclined to tip, please bring some cash (they are amazing and definitely deserve it!)! However, we ask that you drink responsibly and DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE (we have two police officers in the wedding party AND one catering the event - and we aren't afraid to use them).
Are children allowed?
While we love your little ones, in order to allow all guests, including parents, to enjoy the evening, we have respectfully chosen for the wedding to be adult only. The space is also very limited and not kid-friendly. We ask that you PLEASE make it a date night!
What is the best way to RSVP?
We ask that all guests RSVP using the QR code on their invitation. If you are struggling with RSVPing, please let the bride or groom know!
What is the deadline to RSVP?
We ask that all guest RSVP by September 1, 2024. This will ensure we are getting plenty to eat and drink for everyone! Anyone who RSVPs after will be expected to bring a sandwich and a lawn chair!
Can I bring a date/guest?
We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for your understanding!
Where are you registered?
We are so thankful you will be joining us for this celebration of our love. While gifts are not expected, we have registered for a few items we need for our newlywed home. A link to our wedding registry can be found on our website!
I cannot attend the wedding in person. Is there a way I can still celebrate your big day with you?
Being teachers, we have several young humans wanting to join the day with us. We will be creating a Facebook group with the link to a planned Facebook live. If you are interested in joining that group, please email us at wesswedding2024@gmail.com.
I have a question not answered here; how can I contact you?
Of course, if you have a question we want to get that answered so the night is smooth rolling! If it is before wedding day, feel free to message one of us personally. If it is wedding day, we will be giving our wedding email to our wedding coordinator, so feel free to email wesswedding2024@gmail.com
What are you guys up to?
Both of us are teaching at Bourbon County High School! Eric is teaching History, as well as being a co-sponsor of the pep club. Mahala is teaching Agriculture, as well as being an FFA Advisor. We live in Paris and enjoy spending time playing with Drogo, watching reruns of the Office, going to support our kiddos at sporting events, and of course cheering on the Cats at Kroger Field!
