Who knew a guy from Maryland and a girl from Kentucky would end up in Michigan and fall in love. Our love story is my favorite. We met for the very first time at our department’s vespers. I had just gotten to Andrews University, knew no one, and Rithesh was working the event. I got my Taco Bell and sat down in my flannel, jeans, and boots. Lucky for me, this very cute and tall boy from MD sat down next to me. I like to think it’s because he thought I was cute; but really, he was getting paid to talk, which is easy money for him. We instantly clicked and ended up talking the entire night, much to all of the teachers’ delight. A picture of us was taken that night in hopes something might grow, and boy did it grow. I eventually asked to study with him (which was just an excuse to see him without a mask). Those study sessions soon turned into regular occurrences and consisted of lots more laughing, eating, and talking than actual studying. The first gift I ever gave Rithesh, was a can of Ale8. I believe my words were, “I brought you a gift from KY,” as his eyes widened with worry about what could this girl, I just met, possibly have brought me. Much to his surprise it was actually quite tasty. Our friendship quickly turned into something more as we spent EVERY SINGLE class together, and countless hours working in the department. We soon learned we liked a lot of the same things: sports, outdoors, the beach, animals, exploring new places, hanging out with friends, and of course eating food. We decided it was about time to make it official. Much to my surprise the words "I love you" came out of my mouth faster than I had expected. He had stolen my heart.
Fast forward a few years, I started mentioning getting engaged and was met every single time with “give me a couple years.” So when the time came to “take graduation pictures”, I thought nothing of it. I put on my white dress and blindly followed him down the beach where I was met with the most beautiful proposal. It was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. That leads us to where we are today.
We are so excited to continue our lives together and to make this special commitment in front of all of our family and friends. We cannot wait to see you; and thank you for choosing to be a part of our special day.
