Mahtab and Faiz first meet when Faiz visits VIT for a Model UN in 2017. Mahtab was incredibly upset that weekend, she disliked MUNs and didn't want to waste the weekend by staying in VIT. Mahtab walked up to Faiz and decided for both of them that they were now friends. Faiz then visited VIT every following year. They became friends that met once every year to share a brownie and some coffee at VIT. This picture is from his visit in 2019 where Mahtab talked his ears off at Oh Cheat Day and he just couldn't wait to go back home.

During the pandemic, Faiz and Mahtab discovered that they don't live that far from one another. In need of human interaction, they decided to meet for yet another coffee at the Ferns Meadows' clubhouse. There was a beautiful sunset that evening, lots of one sided conversations, and too many calories consumed.

One day after work, Faiz texted Mahtab to meet for Paninis. Mahtab, excited by the prospect of a sandwich, invited Abhigyan to join as well. The more, the merrier! When Abhigyan and Mahtab reached Paris Panini, they found a man dressed for court, reading a book and sipping a black coffee, with an air of dark and broody mystery about himself.

Abhigyan, Faiz and Mahtab have a night out. Mahtab then proceeds to whip out her most vital two-part friendship test. The test asks: 1. Do you share the same passion for cake as Mahtab does? 2. Is your taste in cake good? Faiz passed with flying colours, ordering and indulging in what has now become their favourite slice, Mocha Icebox from Magnolia Bakery. On this night, the three of them discussed a getaway to Goa. Despite being unsure of how serious everyone else was about these plans, Mahtab decided she was going to Goa on her birthday, no matter what.

The Goa plan somehow became a reality thanks to Tanya and Abhigyan, Mahtab's day one buddies! ♡

Faiz and Mahtab discovered their shared love for all things beach! Especially swimming in the sea! Faiz also witnessed the waves throw Mahtab into numerous somersaults with salty water streaming out her nose. Not her best look.

Faiz won Kiara over! They bonded over Faiz's gangster music and their mutual grievances about Mahtab.

What follows is a lot more coffee, cake and conversations about life goals, career goals and shared activities like Faiz mistaking golf for discus by accidentally launching his golf club to the 75 yard mark! There were shared Diwalis and Eids with lots of biryani induced naps on both sides. Also, three more trips to Goa!
