Pat and Máiréad first crossed paths at 18 when they both snuck into a Shillelagh Law concert at the Shamrock House in East Durham (picture above.) Though their connection sparked quickly and they started dating soon after, college led them in different directions. Eight years later, fate brought them back together.

Just before Covid, Pat and Máiréad rekindled their relationship and ended up quarantining together for the entire pandemic. Since then, their journey has been filled with adventure—attending 36 weddings, snowboarding in Vermont, dancing at Bonnaroo in Tennessee, exploring Ireland, road-tripping through the Blue Ridge Mountains and down to Georgia, marveling at Yellowstone National Park, and wandering the streets of Paris. Through their big, loving families, they’ve celebrated over 30 weddings together, and now they can’t wait to finally have one of their own, surrounded by the people they love most.
