Our wedding venue — Monte Rei Golf & Country Club — is the heart of our celebrations. Please plan transport for the wedding day: travel from Cabanas de Tavira is roughly 20 minutes and from Tavira roughly 30 minutes; check your exact starting point to confirm timing.

27.06.26 — Cocktail Party: Join us the night before for a cocktail party (7:00pm–9:00pm). This is a open-bar event; please pace yourselves so you’re fresh for the wedding day.

28.06.26 — The Big Day: Welcome drinks start at 3:00pm and the ceremony begins at 4:00pm. We’re so grateful for every one of you and can’t wait to celebrate together.

Cabanas is a charming fishing village with a relaxed, home-from-home feel—perfect for wandering, eating, and watching the tide.

Below are our local favourites:

- Local beach — Cabanas de Tavira: Reach the sand by the small taxi boats; buy a return ticket for the same-day crossing. There’s only a small beach bar on the island, so bring snacks (and enjoy a pint on the Cabanas side beforehand—prices are lower). Note: the sea is cold.

-Rooftop bar — Quasi’s: Great cocktails, sangria, and views across the water; perfect for sunset.

- Rooftop bar — AP Cabanas Beach Hotel: A lovely spot to relax and enjoy the view; non-guests welcome. -

-Restaurant — O Monte: Portuguese and European dishes in a beautiful setting (Cabanas, Tavira 8800-591).

-Restaurant — Botega Italiana: Fresh pasta and pizza—one of Maisie’s favourites (Rua Capitão Jorge Ribeiro, 10, Cabanas, Tavira 8800-591). -

-Restaurant — Dona Ines (D’Ines): Known for “steak on the stone” hot plates—cook your own meat or fish at the table.

Tavira is a larger town with so much to offer—definitely a must-visit. Here are some of our favorites:

- Local Beach — Ilha de Tavira: Accessible via ferry from Tavira’s old town riverfront; the easiest pickup is along the river. Check timetables here: https://www.silnido.com/en/copia-tavira.

The island has many great bars and restaurants and is by far our favorite beach. Cocktail lovers should try the new XIRI Beach Club for excellent vibes.

- Bar — Black Anchor: A staple pre-dinner spot and an Irish bar where Guinness fans will feel at home. Rua Borda d'Água da Asseca 46–50, Tavira 8800-325.

- Cocktail Bar — Arcada Cocktail Club: Try their tiramisu martini (Fin’s favorite)—so good. Praça da República 8–6, Tavira 8800-316.

- Restaurant — Brisa do Rio: Seafood heaven with superb wines. Rua João Vaz Corte Real 38, Tavira 8800-351.

- Restaurant — Borda D'Água: Lovely riverside dining with delicious food and drinks. Rua João Vaz Corte Real 15, Tavira 8800-351.
