From the moment our paths first crossed, it was clear that something extraordinary was unfolding—a love story written by God Himself.
It all started with Stacy. She had worked with Nate for over a year and quickly recognized something special about him. She would often share stories about him, insisting I just had to meet him. For a while, I brushed it off. At the time, I was in another relationship, and meeting someone new wasn’t on my radar. But Stacy was persistent, and when my other relationship ended, she quietly entrusted the situation to God, letting Him work in His perfect timing.
Fast forward to September 29th. A little girl I knew was being baptized, and I invited Stacy to join me. Though we were running late, Stacy felt an undeniable pull to attend. We rushed and made it just in time. After the service, as we stepped out of the elevator at the church, we hesitated, trying to decide which way to go. That’s when Nate appeared.
He had been on his way to a life group and was heading up the stairs when he spotted us. Stacy introduced us, and what seemed like a brief, chance encounter turned into something far greater. Over the next few days, Nate couldn’t stop thinking about me. He told Stacy he wanted to reach out, and with my approval, he got my number.
Nate later shared his side of the story. He had decided to stop trying to find love on his own and surrendered the search to God. That day at church, when he saw me for the first time, he said it felt like love at first sight. He knew there was something different about me—something that made him think, Oh, hello. You’re my wife. His mom had even prayed that he would “run into” the woman God had for him, and that’s exactly what happened.
Our connection was immediate. We started talking on October 2nd, had our first date on October 6th, and by October 14th, we were officially a couple. For Nate, it didn’t take long to know I was the one. Just a few weeks into dating, he was already thinking about marriage. For me, it took a little longer—about a month or two—but I couldn’t ignore all the ways God’s hand was at work in our story.
Nate is everything I prayed for in a husband. His love for God is evident in everything he does, from leading us in prayer to respecting my boundaries and protecting our virtue. He is kind, selfless, and deeply rooted in his faith. He constantly prays for us, seeks to grow spiritually, and shares the same values and morals I hold dear.
One of the moments that sealed my heart was on our first date. When Nate prayed over our food, it was such a simple act, but it spoke volumes about his character and his devotion to God. He’s always making me laugh, encouraging me, and showing me the kind of love that mirrors Christ’s love for the church.
On December 22nd, Nate proposed. He had been carrying the ring since mid-November, waiting for the perfect moment to ask me to spend forever with him. When I look at him, I see a man who is not only my partner but my spiritual leader, my encourager, and my best friend.
Through this journey, I’ve come to realize that marriage isn’t just about two people—it’s about growing together in God and serving His kingdom as one. I am so incredibly blessed to have found Nate, and I thank God for him every single day. This is just the beginning of the beautiful story God is writing for us.
