It all started on a cold February night in Lake Anna. Makayla’s cousin, Marisa, drove down from Boston to spend the weekend. Marisa was looking for some fun (or maybe some trouble) to get into, so Makayla’s mom, Pam, suggested the local taphouse. Makayla had originally said no because she wasn’t feeling her best, but Marisa and Pam convinced her. Fast forward to later in the evening, when Robert’s friend Ben came over to introduce himself and brought his friends along. After a few words and drinks, the group decided to head to The Cove, where the night continued with dancing and drinks. Makayla had her eye on Robert the whole time. After that night, they were inseparable.
