It all started at the bowling alley—because, obviously, where else would a great love story begin? Maybe it was the sound of strikes or just sheer fate, but somehow, our paths crossed.

Fast forward a little, and one day, I did what any self-respecting, slightly bored person would do—I put out the universal bat signal: "I’m bored, someone hit me up." And guess who slid into my DMs like a pro? Yep, Makayla. The conversation started, and before we knew it, we had talked the entire night, peeling back the layers of who we were.

Fun fact: We dated back in 2015. Yep, this love story came with a sequel. Our first first date was at the movies, watching The Martian. Nothing like a sci-fi movie about being stranded on Mars to set the mood, right? Looking back, maybe it was a sign that no matter how far apart we were, we’d always find our way back to each other.
