We met on February 4, 2019 at an honor band. The band consisted of several schools coming together to form one band that rehearsed all day and had a performance that night. It was pure luck that we both happened to play the tuba! After Johnathan poorly flirting all day at rehearsal, I gave in and let him have my Snapchat. There is even a picture of the two of us from that day! I sat by Johnathan for the performance, my grandma Laura, wanted a picture of me and Johnathan was in it too! After the performance that night, we didn’t really talk for two years. We would occasionally Snapchat back and forth but that was it. One day out of the blue, Johnathan messaged me and we started talking daily. We “met” again on April 24, 2021. We just happened to both be at the Boone races and the racers we were there for, had parked next to one another. Both of us were too shy to really talk to one another haha. From there we started talking daily and hanging out. We became official on May 8, 2021 and the rest history! We were just two strangers that were destined to come together and we cannot be more thankful of God’s plan for us! We cannot wait to see what else He has in store for us!

Kenna had given Johnathan tons of ideas on how to do it without her knowing it was going to happen. (Kenna is really good at ruining surprises lol) She told him that during family pictures would be nice because everyone would be there and everyone would be dressed up. That’s exactly what he did. They were “seeing how the lighting was” and Amy said the code words and then Johnathan got down on one knee. It was amazing and Kenna was surprised!!
