Our Wedding

Our welcome party, wedding ceremony, reception, and after party are all on-site at The Margate Resort. We have plenty of rooms available under our room block! We would love for you to make this a weekend and stay Friday and Saturday night. Room block: Please call the Margate directly at 603-524-5210 to reserve your hotel stay. Be sure to mention the Hery/Sheppard wedding when booking to ensure you enter into our discounted room block. Please do not use their website to make your reservation as you will not be placed into our discounted room block. Room rates should range between $239 per night to $339 per night. See below for a map of the resort. The “inn” rooms are across the street and are the least expensive. The “courtyard” and “lakeview” rooms provide easier access to our wedding events, but are on the higher end of the room rate range. Note: If you would like to stay for only one night, you may ask for this option when calling the Margate. Only the “inn” rooms are available for a single night stay. In addition, check-in time would be after our ceremony start time, so please arrive wedding ready.

There is a Best Western about 10 minutes away from our venue, should you decide to stay off-site. We will not have a shuttle to and from The Margate, so you will be responsible for your own transportation.

Walk along the boardwalk for a beautiful view of the foliage on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Weirs Beach

Book a daytime scenic cruise around Lake Winnipesaukee on historic M/S Mount Washington. Board at Weirs Beach, located less than 10 minutes from our venue. The 10am-12:30pm cruise should give you plenty of time to get back and get ready for our ceremony.

Twin Barns Brewing is located in Meredith, about 15 minutes away from our venue. They have a full taproom offering their wide variety of craft beers and cider. Their taproom opens at 4pm on Friday and at 12pm on Saturday and Sunday.

If you want to combine craft beer with axe throwing, Axe & Ale is located about 5 minutes down the road from our venue! Their space opens at 12pm everyday.

April 2015

We met for the first time at a job interview for a YMCA summer camp.

March 2017

We went on our first date to get ice cream at Richardsons in Middleton.

June 2017

We became boyfriend and girlfriend on the same day of Makenzie’s high school graduation party.

August 2017

We said I love you before Makenzie left for her freshman year of college at Bentley.

May 2021

We graduated from Salem State and Bentley University.

March 2022

We moved into our first apartment in downtown Beverly.

March 2024

We moved into our second apartment right down the road in Beverly.

July 2024

We got engaged in York, Maine at Nubble Lighthouse.

January 2025

We rescued our two kittens Stellar and Nala.

Makenzie and Sam have been best friends since 7th grade. They were inseparable during high school and remained that way through college despite going to different schools in different states. Today Sam is a postpartum nurse at MGH in Boston. Sam loves baking, yoga, vlogs, and Taylor Swift! Favorite memories together include trips to Disney, Aruba, Bahamas, and of course Ossipee, NH.

Samantha Cimino

Caroline and Makenzie have been best friends since 7th grade after they were placed in the same home room in middle school. Caroline’s love of animals, running, politics, music, and more make her such a unique and fun person to have around. Despite going to UMASS, Caroline made many visits to Bentley to visit Makenzie and they have so many fun memories from those nights.

Caroline O’Neill

Alex is Cam’s older sister and Makenzie’s future sister-in-law! Makenzie was honored to be Alex’s bridesmaid in March 2024 at her and Jared’s destination wedding in Punta Cana. Alex and Makenzie have spent many holidays and family vacations together getting to know each other better through game nights, shopping, and adventures! Alex is the proud owner of her own mental health counseling business and also owns a home in NH with her husband Jared.

Alexandra Mrvos

Makenzie and Courtney became quick best friends as freshman year roommates at Bentley. They originally chose each other as roommates based off their shared qualities of being from the North Shore, having grown up going to Ossipee Lake, and love of all things reality TV. However, their friendship bond grew stronger as they navigated the first year of college together. They went on to stay close throughout their years at Bentley and after. Courtney works in HR and lives in Winthrop.

Courtney Dalton

Makenzie and Jamie were roommates during Sophomore and Junior year of college. Jamie convinced Makenzie to join her sorority and so many fun nights came out of that. Makenzie and Jamie have stayed very close after college with travels to Bahamas, Nashville, and Aruba. Jamie works in HR and lives in Medford. Jamie enjoys game nights, concerts, traveling, and hosting.

Jamie Keith

Cody has been best friends with Cam since they were kids. Cam was Cody’s best man in his wedding in 2024. Cody and Cam like to golf, play video games, and talk about sports. Cody is a Lynn police officer and lives with his wife Kristin and their dog Mac in Lynnfield.

Cody Sutherland

Kyle is Cody’s older brother and is also close friends with Cam. Kyle likes to golf, play video games, and watch sports. Kyle works with special needs students in schools.

Jared is married to Cam’s older sister Alex. Cam was a groomsman in Jared’s wedding in 2024. Jared and Cam have spent many family vacations, holidays, and special occasions together. Jared works in mental health counseling. Jared loves anything outdoors, live music, breweries, and traveling. Jared will also be serving as our ceremony officiant!

Derek has been friends with Cam since high school. Cam and Derek have spent lots of time together playing flag football, sports betting, playing video games, and playing poker.

Riley is Cam’s younger cousin. Riley lives down the street from where Cam grew up, so Cam would frequently pick up Riley to go to a park and play basketball. They have spent many family parties and holidays hanging out.
