Our Wedding

The backstory of how we met :) It all starts back when Malachi was growing up. He made a friend very young named Michael Hill, who would grow to be his best friend throughout his life, where they would both go to college at the University of Wyoming.Simultaneously, Sophia met her best friend Emily Hensiek during her freshman/sophomore year and very quickly because bosom friend (iykyk). Emily and her were inseparable throughout high school and remained very close in college, when Emily went to the University of Wyoming and Sophia went to Colorado Christian University.Fast forward a couple months, Emily met Michael at church in Wyoming and after dating for awhile they decided to get married! This set in motion a sequence of events that led Malachi and Sophia to meet each other.Michael asked Malachi to stand by him in his wedding as a groomsman and Emily asked Sophia to be a bridesmaid. As the wedding planning went along, Sophia kept hearing about how great Malachi was, but that he was dating someone (boooo) and Sophia had just ended a relationship of her own. Because of this, they both were not in the position of looking for other options haha.So the rehearsal dinner went ahead and Malachi and Sophia finally met (she thought he was super handsome :))), but sadly unavailable). Malachi taught her some swing dancing steps Emily and Michael wanted the wedding party to know so she wouldn't be lost during the reception and the next day, 11/22/22, they walked down the aisle together in Emily and Michael's wedding, parting ways at the end of the night and carrying on with their lives.Another fast forward, this one a year later. Malachi was now a free man and wanted to move to Denver, CO. Michael and Emily worked together to set up a (partially) blind date between him and Sophia when he got there. The first date lasted over 6 hours and spanned a coffee shop and walking to a Chick-fil-A, and the rest as they say is history!! :))Sophia likes to joke with Malachi that she'll walk down the aisle with him twice, but this time she'll be the one in white :)

This is Emily! I have known her since freshman year of high school when we both worked at the same bakery and had guitar/piano together. Emily has always been a grounding presence to me, she's been such a light and source of joy through all of the eras of Sophia she's seen first hand lol. I'm so honored to have her as one of the maid/matrons of honor!

This is Bridgette! Better known to me as Briggy. Bridgette was one of my roommates in my freshman year of college at Colorado Christian University. Throughout the 4 years of undergrad, she's never been more than 15 feet away and thank goodness for that. She's been a rock and voice of reason to me for years and I couldn't imagine my life without her. I'm incredibly honored she is going to be one of my maids/matrons of honor!

This is Makena! She was my roommate for the last 3 years in college at Colorado Christian University and she's been the cause of many laughs and seen many cries. Makena truly lives up to her middle name (Joy lol) and sparks happiness and laughter everywhere she goes. I'm so lucky to know a Makena Hawley :) and I'm so honored she is going to be one of my bridesmaids!

This is Heidi! Heidi lived below me in my freshman year of college and we very quickly became friends after she played the Pride and Prejudice theme song on the piano with her door open and Sanonna and I came running down. Heidi is a beam of light to all who know her and radiates the joy of Christ in everything she does (she's also gonna be an engineer, very cool). Our ice cream trips and long car rides have shown me just what a gem she is and I'm so honored she's going to be one of my bridesmaids!

This is Ally! She was also one of my roommates during my freshman year of college and was my tea-drinking, dancer buddy. Ally has been a dear friend throughout college and has always been able to bring me back to reality. She lives every day the way she wants and is an inspiration to everyone around her (myself included). Ally has been a gift of a friend and I'm so honored she's going to be one of my bridesmaids!

This is Sanonna! She was my direct roommate in my freshman year of college and the first person I met at CCU. She is an incredible human and thoughtful friend through times when my life wasn't super easy. If you ever need Gushers, duck-themed thrift items, or someone to bounce ideas off of for advice she's your best bet. I am so honored that she's going to be one of my bridesmaids!
