I met Coleman online in 2020, where I was living in Chicago and Coleman was in Oregon. I was a recent convert to Christianity and in the middle of our first year, I lost my mom.
For background, I come from a very strict Muslim family. Coleman's family came to visit me in Chicago and we had the best time. Grief gets lonely and being with people you love changes that.
Once my dad found out I was going to my local church and dating a Christian man, he kicked me out. Coleman's family, without any hesitation let me in their family and cared for me as their own. I thank the Lord He has sent me this family. I have never met a family as kind, Christ like, loving and generous as his.
I am incredibly grateful for the family that will be my own, and to be one with my (future) husband.
