Maleah and Josh met at World Outreach Church on June 11th, 2014. They were both serving as teen counselors in their church youth camp, Character Quest. Maleah was extremely shy and reserved while Josh was very fun and outgoing. They met one day in the parking lot while their camp kids were dismissing. They soon became very close friends. They enjoyed the rest of camp worshiping and serving together and continued to stay connected and see each other after camp had ended. Little did they know what this friendship would lead to...
As the years progressed, their friendship blossomed. They went on "friend dates" to the movies, The Avenue, and The Greenway in Murfreesboro. Despite what many had thought, they were still not dating... until Character Quest 2016. The two both served once again at CQ as they had done in previous years. Many had taken note of their friendship and mistook it for dating. Even the camp kids begged them to date. So one day, they decided to give everyone what they wanted... they were going to fake date in hopes of ending the rumors. But little did they know that this would blow up their world.
The two told their camp kids on Friday at lunch that they were dating (because that's all the kids would ask about everyday aside from what's on the lunch menu that day). The children did not in fact stop talking about it like the couple had predicted and only grew more excited and vocal about the topic. Throughout the day, the news had spread to all the kids at camp and even to the teen and adult consolers. Maleah and Josh expected that this rumor would only stay between their kids but they later saw how wrong they were. After all the kids were dismissed, friends came up to them congratulating them on their "relationship"... Maleah and Josh did not have the heart to tell those people that it was fake.
Later that night, the two discussed the possibility of dating. They were both very reluctant due to their strong friendship that neither of them wanted to ruin. After some consideration, they agreed that they had feelings for each other. So they decided to give actual dating a shot. Maleah and Josh met at The Greenway that next Monday, June 20th, 2016, where they took a long walk, talked about life, and shared some laughs. Thats when Josh officially asked Maleah to be his girlfriend. The couple became known as Mosh (Maleah and Josh). The rest is history.
Maleah and Josh dated for a little over three years before getting engaged. They shared their first kiss on July 10th, 2016 during a surprise picnic Josh put together for Maleah at The Greenway.
Maleah was homeschooled for her second half of high school and couldn't find a local homeschool prom to go to. With the help of some friends and family, they decided to create their own prom at home in Maleah's carport on May 13th, 2017. Maleah and Josh danced the night away to their favorite songs with loved ones all around. (Check the 'photos' tab to see this event more of their relationship!)
In 2018, Maleah and Josh had the wonderful opportunity to go on a trip with the Watts family to California around Christmas. They enjoyed their time visiting Josh's beautiful family, attending The Lights Festival in Downtown Riverside, going to Disneyland, and seeing where Tim and Kori grew up and fell in love.
This relationship has also been filled with many adventures such as yearly road trips to Chattanooga, Taco Bell dates, many concerts, and much more. Over these three years, these two grew as individuals and as a couple.
On October 12th, 2019, Maleah thought she was attending a simple fall photoshoot for her and Josh. Little did she know that Josh had something planned several months in advance. With a little help from some friends and family, Josh popped the question. He proposed at one of their favorite fall places, Walden Pumpkin Farm. This spot is very special for the couple. They have come to this place every year (sometimes multiple times a year) since they've started dating.
